At first I thought Rebecca is an American, but it turns out that she's from the Netherlands ((formally known as Holland)) and here is her background: Rebecca's father was an instructor of karate, aikido and judo, and as a result, she is learning martial arts for her own protection. She was in love with Eric, a young man she met at the dojo, but she eventually discovered that he was one of Shuko's men and was attempting to take over the dojo for the organization. Rebecca was shocked and attempted to convince Eric to change his ways, but he turned on her, showing his true self. She realized that his love for her was fake and, in tears, fought him and won. Wanting vengeance against Shuko for hurting her female sensitivities, she stands against him in order to prevent something like this from ever happening again.
This game doesn't get enough recognition or love. I loved it as a kid, being a fan of Street Fighter (and fighting games in general) and a fan of Double Dragon as well, this game was amazing. I remember playing it at a pizza place back in the 90's and being blown away by it. Nowadays i still play it through emulation. It's funny because the DD movie it was based on was god awful trash, but the game itself is great, lol.
@@sobeksuwek This 1995 game is based on a movie, which itself is based on the eponymous video game series. The Punisher debuted as a Marvel character in 1974, a time where there wasn't such a thing as video gaming.
@@elsoldadomarquez Shame on me to forget talim ! Maki hasn't got tonfas in Final Fight 2 ! (Super Nintendo) Talim comes from Soul Calibur 2. From the Philippines. Like Josie Rizal. (Tekken 7) Talim is missing in Soul Calibur 5. (PS3, Xbox 360) Eagle, from UK, is also in SF Alpha 3 Upper (GB Advance) and SF Alpha Max. (PSP) Eagle : a character from Savage Reign / Kizuna Encounter ! (Neo Geo, NG CD Eagle : the easy difficult in Burai Figher. (Nes, Game Boy) Eagle : a move in golf. :)
Este jogo influenciou com seus gráficos e música outro jogo da mesma Technos: Gowcaizer. Joguem e vocês vão notar a semelhança. Claro que Double Dragon é melhor, mas Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer merece pelo menos uma visita
It's a shame that these creative elements that add personality to the matches, like char intros and stage intros, were left behind in favor of standard animations just for the appeal of 3d graphics show off. Even the latest Snk fg's are that way. Nowadays they invest in personal dialogues, nice fancy char intros, even multiple intros per char (Mk became famous at that), but it's all standardized either way...
Damn... was this the first fighting game to have air blocking!!???!! Graphics and action reminds me of Breakers. Rebecca is definitely about that action... COFFEE CAN!!!
