Textland makes a lot more sense now after the protag said cillian was 'ok'. Wtf? He's quick to offense and anger, aggressive and violent. The whole time they're talking about the wedding im wondering who in their right mind would be alright with their sister marrying somebody who speaks to you like that. He can't be treating her well.

These stories originate in Japan, China, and other Asian countries. The marriage and inheritance and financial laws may be different than the country you live in there may even be different family traditions that aren't easily understood. These stories are edited for dramatic affect. Sometimes, the translation from one language to another doesn't always make proper grammatical sense. Just enjoy the story for what it is, entertainment.

Does it really matter if she gets closer with her brother in law? After all she isn't the one marrying him. As long as they can tolerate each other at family gatherings, it doesn't matter. Realistically not all blood relatives get along Edit, sorry I just realised it's a man (toddler) that thinks every woman should listen to and hang off his every word and appreciate being in his presence

The biggest AH here is Eric. If he'd kept it in his pants, none of this would be a problem. Shay sucks for being nasty to Layla and the child. And Layla sucks for keeping Eric's secret, even for a little while.

Families these days are made up mostly by one man one woman. But other families also happen to have parents both being same sex. IMHO it’s even ok with combinations of more than one man and or with more than one woman. All of them can have one or more kids. None of this makes cruelty to kids or adults ok. And it is never ok to attack others for circumstances they had no ability to control.

Learn what ‘them’ means. That’s more than one. You keep talking about them like there is more than child. Learn how to conjugate the ‘state of being’ verb in English.

You are looking after ONE child which means it is a “he” or a “she”, and NOT a “them” or a “they”! Saying “them” or “they”means PLURAL children, not one or two.

Someone never passed English class! 😂 “They” has been used as a singular pronoun since at least the 14th century as a gender neutral pronoun. It doesn’t always refer to multiple individuals.

Editing and proofreading should be mandatoryvin these stories. They repeatedly refer to the child in the story as "them" which would mean at least two if not more, but there is only ONE girl child the words are wrong. Never refered to as she or her.

“Them” or “they” can be used to refer to a single person, people often do that if they don’t know a person’s gender. You got a lot of Cs in English class, didn’t you?

Remember these stories are usually Japanese in origin. While I understand we would like her/him or he/she I can't get really mad when we have grown adults using them/then as their personal pronouns.
