So I saw a little cat on my way by the shrine gate:
A lucky glimpse of black, which I could not ignore.
With a round face, a bowtie... and how many tails?
Surely two, like the stories from bakeneko lore.
No others seemed to sense it; its presence was subtle.
It passed right through the columns like nothing was there.
But, without a control, an experiment fails...
Soon, a gap opened up and it vanished to the air.
(Here, there is a world yet only seen by the physicists and the magicians.)
(A world of flawless truth, of boundless scope, of pure intuitions.)
(And here, there is a world yet only seen by the physicists and the magicians.)
(We are the observers now, but what would it take to switch our positions?)
Schrodinger, Schrodinger, what would you say?
Spirits may live, just as long as we observe.
Our world would choose yet to seal them away.
How could this be anything a kitten could deserve?

Our fantastic specimens are heavily in strife.
Ignorance killed them, betrayed their instinct.
It's our curiosity that brings them all to life.
I saw a funny thing floating out on the river:
A tattered piece of cloth, all washed up by the rain.
Its dye in the water was trailing behind,
Where the once-striking pattern looked only like a stain.
The sights you see beyond are the remnants of something;
The prints they leave behind, ever hard to discern.
If the cat was the dye... if I touched it, would I...?
