The desire to be reunited with a dear friend can trump a generational long sacred responsibilities. Reimu may act the whole 'whatever' attitude but it's clear she treasures those close to her, even if she herself doesn't realize it.
Silly Reimu. Yukari can manipulate the boundaries between Life and Death, the Past and the Present, and Reality and Fantasy. You really think something like that can kill her, when her future-self can just manipulate the boundaries between the Past and the Present and between Life and Death to retroactively resurrect herself? She's not dead, she's just at home, sleeping!
Zack Zander She won't. That last part was to show that Reimu could move on from what happened and be happy again. Yukai took the hat in the end because she knew she wouldn't notice if the hat was gone.
This video was nothing but feels. Right up until the end. The first thing I thought was 'that bitch...'. Not to say the feels were diminished, but... that bitch...
@MistPower101 The book that Reimu found contained a sectre resurection spell. In order to use the spell you need to sacrifice something of same worth as what you're resurecting. Reimu saw that the the Hakurei Barrier and Gensokyo itself had the same worth as Yukari, thus she's trying to sacrifice Gensokyo iteself in order to bring back Yukari. Alice, Marisa and Sakuya are trying to stop Reimu from breaking the boarder and ending Gensokyo.
I've watched this with subs and I must say that the story is so much more powerful and you get so much more out of it if you are not being forced to read subtitles. A picture tells a thousand words after all.
Somehow-ly, I'm weak to this.. Had to keep my guards up not to let the feel in.(which happens quite occasionally in the early minutes of the vid) And to clear the throat, so that my tears would flow somewhere else in my body( I don't know exactly where)
After watching this a gazillion (approx) times; I've only just noticed that, at the end, when Reimu's mostly gotten over Yukari that she's grown her hair long. It looks surprisingly good on her. Makes the ending a little happier seeming for me, which is nice after the gut punch of Yukari dying.
i’m pretty sure there is a reverse situation in a fan doujinshi (the safe ones) where reimu died from age and the new hakurei shrine maiden replaces reimu
Cried soo hard i barely watched the video properly the music was well done and as far as i could tell was NOT as usual a remix of Touhou music The music with the expressions of the characters was the breaking point for me escpecially when Yukari smiled before saving Gensokyo Makes me wonder how I'm gonna cope when someone important to me dies
I'm...not entirely sure how I ended up here, but.... Somebody please tell me who sings this song. TT^TT My gosh, that was just...beautiful. And I'm still 90% lost when it comes to Touhou.
@th3mant0th3g0d According to Perfect Momento in Strict Sense, that's not the case, it's the Shrine Maidens who need to be alive for the Border to be active.
The song fits perfectly with the PV! It's as if Hanako Oku made this song specifically for this PV. (if I didn't know better I would believe so) I have the song lyrics on my screen at this moment (literally) ...what a sad yet hopeful song...
