When I first got into the Transformers, all the Megatrons I knew were idiots, mindless brutes or too vain, barely with any character. I always preferred Starscream because he was more interesting and seemed more intelligent (yet undercut by his own personality) Then Prime happened, and I saw a competent, scheming, anticipating Megatron Then Animated, and there was a smooth talking, seducing yet brutal and immovable Megatron Then IDW happened And I don't think I will ever see a Megatron that is more thoughtful, gripping and awe inspiring than that incarnation.
Beast Wars Megatron was pretty good too. The guy almost rewrote history by using time travel and managed to conquer Cybertron on his own and was able to rule it for a long time during Beast Machines until he got defeated by Optimus Primal. But Aligned Megatron and IDW Megatron are the best ones by far.

I once told optimus I killed for the sake of killing. I wanted to make him hurt me, you see because when he hurts others he hurts himself. And the thing is, when those words were in my head I didn't think I meant them; but when they left my mouth, I realized that I did. If the world thinks you're a monster what does it matter the world is wrong. But when you start to think of yourself as a monster I came to hate the person I'd become. And I decided that the best way to leave that person behind- maybe the easiest way was to become a autobot, Ravage: you're not a monster, and we all have wobbles. All of us, from time to time, we all have wobbles and we all question what were doing it's part of being a deception you've said so yourself, in years to come-when we've won-you'll remember this conversation and laugh
when i found that Megatron become Autobot, i was shocked, cause the mark that he made, wear pride on his chest for a long time, he just discard it, as well turn his back on his man who had either up to, or feared or whatever it, and join the Autobot side, and fight against the Legacy that he build, i have to say, IDW, it's hell of a twist on Megatron and one I would love to see in form of a cartoon series
Just Call Me Whatever's Gamer Channel and the only version where Megatron realizes his faults and sees his mistakes, even though he has good ideals, he is just not good on executing them.

Y'know, when you look at the earlier parts of the story from Megatron's perspective, you can actually sort of understand his motivations, especially when you're looking at the Aligned Continuity and the comics. He was given the short end of the stick from the day he was built, and all he's really wanted was equality for himself and all others on Cybertron. Is that really so much to ask?
@@northernalpine4350 Exactly, and it lost him whatever friends he had beforehand; Optimus, Impactor, Jetfire. Behind that mask of a scheming warlord, he must be really depressed.
@@northernalpine4350 Yeah, and at the end of these sorts of continuities, Megatron shows genuine remorse when he calls off the war. He never wanted to cause so much destruction; he just wanted liberty for his people. It's sad really.

@@ryanbelcher25rb Looking at it now I guess you're right, yeah. I saw the the way they were both sitting across from each other and thought it was supposed to be Rodimus and Megatron's final conversation before his sentencing in the last issue.
Even yet though I haven't read all the IDW comics, IDW Megatron looks like he had a tough life while makes me have full curiosity on his backstory, this almost made me cry, just almost, anyways nice video, very well animated
As someone who's finished the comics, I can say that said curiosity is well rewarded if you continue reading. His origin is given in Megatron: Origins (shocker), and is later further explored in the series More Than Meets the Eye (Mtmte) and its sequel Lost Light.
Yeah I haven't read all of the IDW comics either, but damn his life was rough. Thank god he made amends for his past mistakes, even though some people doubt him. Hail to Megatron, The fallen hero who picked himself back up again!!
The Autobot conversion seemed initially very weird but his conversation with Ravage implied he was physically, mentally and emotionally much wearier than he appeared on the outside and kind of over it, as normally he has a reservoir of inner rage which he tapped into for the last time when confronting his T Cog addicted fanboy.

El otro día estaba viendo transformers prime, el episodio en el que Megatron pelea contra el insecticon de aracnid, y cuando finalmente lo derrota, ve que los autobots estaban viendo la pelea, así que a pesar de verse visiblemente agotado se pone en pie y grita"¿ Quién es el siguiente?", pero termina cayendo al suelo. Ahí fue cuando me di cuenta de que esa serie podría ser de las mejores de la franquicia, ya que nos muestran como el paso del tiempo ha afectado a Megatron, el cual era un gran gladiador y, aunque aún sabe dar pelea, se ve claramente que su época dorada pasó de largo hace mucho, mostrándonos a un Megatron cansado y que empieza a tomar malas decisiones, pero a pesar de todo aún conserva intacto su orgullo.
No hubiera sido hermoso que adapten la llegada de tarn despues después del final de de transformers prime y adapten la transformación o mejor dicho la redención de megatron?

I never read the IDW comics but I’m going to. Megatron as a penitent Autobot is such an unusual direction for the character but a beautiful redemption story.

This really changed my perception on the decepections. Thrown into been an outcast because of his alt-mode, his friends killed by the higer ups, made him work mindlessly. Megatron only vision was for a better Cybertron where everyone is equal before his mind got consumed by his tryanny side Also, the Autobots weren't any better either before optimus got the matrix. All the higher-ups were full of courrpt bots.
Oh my gosh! This is amazing! Now that i can understand the lyrics, this has so much more meaning and it really does fit Megatron's story of seeing things and how he's felt with them. And at one point trying to avoid death and then stops running. Awesome job.

I am not saying that Megatron is villan and optimus is a hero.......... Megatron started a war beacuse he thought it was the right thing.......... Optimus decided to protect earth from megatron beacuse he thinks it's the right thing........... We all do what we belive is the right thing...............
The issue with Megatron, is somewhere along the line he lost what his original purpose was, he became the very thing that he swore to destroy, a slave turned tyrant He said it himself "i didn't think i meant them, but i soon realized i did" referring to his taunts against Optimus regarding his heinous deeds, he WAS fighting for the right thing, till he became convinced that all means are justified for HIS end, the promised future that he never achived because he was too busy with his running rivalry with prime.

Ok so it’s werid, in the lost light comic, they used the ship to create two versions of the crew where one goes back to normal life and the other travel the universe. Megaton in the first reality goes to trail after beating a god and it ends when he leaves to see the results of either spending a eternity in jail or die
