Joshy Song Actually you can xD In normal relay, the 3rd runner of whichever team that is in the front can steal the first lane and the people running after will follow. Also, if you ran in the other lanes, it would be a bit longer, so that's why everyone probably chose the shorter, inner circle. XD Hope that makes sense

Joshy Song in track, the lead/first person has to run in the respective lane. after the first persons passes to the second persons, the second persons can move into the first lane
