OKAY HAVE A HAPPY ENDING: THE KID JUST HAD A NIGHTMARE ABOUT A CAR CRASH AND WOKE UP HIS PARENTS COMFORTED HIM WITH HIS TOYS AND HE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER THE END *CRIES*
throughout the story he actually dies when it was his birthday and his parents were buying him his favourite toys and when he was riding his bicycle and the training wheels fell off and he went to fast causing him to get hit by his parents car. that's why the song is called Don't look at me on that way Cause he was saying it wasn't their fault.
Kikuo has confirmed that this song is about a child that gets hit by a car in a cycling accident and dies. The sirens at the end are emergency services arriving at the scene but it is too late. I hope this clears things up. As always though, Kikuo's music is meant to really make you think, so you can interpret it however you'd like.
Why does it talk so much as if they were torn to bits and apart if it's a car accident, I can see the rest but them being shredded to parts is hard to imagine from a car incident. Kinda
@@hachijuhachip Actually, you can still download his voicebank at Hakailer's channel. (I think the only voicebank you're able to download is his VCV voicebank.)
Here is my theory: I think that this boy was coming home from whatever (whether it be school, work or a friend’s house), and it was snowing. There was ice on the road. The kid’s bike lost its training wheels and he started to slide down the hill, he fell off of his bike and was hit by a car. The car, too, was out of control in the Ivey roads and split the child in to many pieces. This was right outside of his house, his parents saw and called an ambulance. The “music box” is the sirens. The “soldiers” are the police officers and paramedics. When the paramedics arrived, they realized that they wouldn’t be able to transport the child via ambulance. They called for a helicopter, that’s plane sound that you hear. The child was alive long enough to watch his parents crying. As he died, he saw the houses become distorted as his consciousness disperses. But this is just my theory! I think that the music box refers to the sirens and the car’s horns. And, if you think about it, to a little child officers can appear to be soldiers. As to the toys, he may be referring to his parent’s phones or maybe the parents tried to wrap the wounds before the ambulance got there. In that case, the toys would be the supplies. A little child wouldn’t be able to tell the difference to the same extent that we would be able to. OMG- (edit) actually, he didn’t die immediately. He was put into a coma. That’s why he talks about dreams! He saw his parents in his dreams.
But in the original Kikou it was a sunny day when he rode his bike on the hill and due to the high speed he was going on it made the training wheels fall off and since he wasn't that good at the bike he couldn't stop from hitting the car in time
Before Kikuo confirmed what this song was really about, I had my own theory: The kid had been suffering from a debilitating illness for most of his life, and was unable to go outside and play like the other kids, so his parents kept him happy by buying him loads of toys. But he still was resentful over the fact that he wouldn't get to live a normal life, and that he would forever be stuck with his illness. One day, his condition took a turn for the worse, and as he was dying, the kid dreamed of riding a bike as he went into the light, losing all of the constraints that came with his illness when he died. He watched his parents from the afterlife, as they mourned for him and cremated him along with his favourite toys, and wished he could tell them not to be sad, because he's free crom his illness now...
The story the song is telling is sad. The "I don't exist anywhere anymore" part makes me want to cry. I hope I never have to hear any of my friends and/or family say that....
Basically oliver but if oliver died and- Wait. .THE SONG MAKES SENSE NOW! Oliver freaking died the way the boy in the song died and this is his dead self recalling everything!

*Theory Time* :3 I think it's about a soul that wanders on,into different lives. Every time he's reborn,he remembers how he died in the last life.Surprisingly,he keeps getting adopted or born to the same parents. The first time,he was trapped in the gears of a machine. Second time, he was aborted. Third Time, he got to the age of 4 and rode his bike down a hill. The wheels got stuck, and he was flung off the bike and died on impact of the ground. =3=
I think that this song is about a war. The child is constantly singing about their dead body melting, dying, being blown to pieces--just as it would if destroyed by a nuclear bomb or any other weapon of mass destruction. At one point they say that everyone should become stars and be friends: the thought that everyone should realize that they love each other and cease the fighting. And I mean, COME ON. "The soldiers gunshots won't stop." That is about the war going on right outside of the child's hometown or even house, so close that they can hear it at all hours. Now, about the "death being good" and "being happy when I died," I think the child felt that they were being shut in too much by the war. Curfews, hiding during bombings, etc. They weren't allowed to go outside and play anymore. Eventually, they started wanting to go outside so badly that it didn't mind if they were killed in the process. In the last verse of the song, when the child sings about going down the hill with their bicycle and seeing all the houses disappearing--they have gone out against their parents wishes and have wandered into a zone where fighting is more common and the houses have since then been blown to unrecognizable, melted, bits. There were no people there since the region had been shut down because a bombing was going on right then. The child hears the sound of bombs dropping and it dawns on them that the aren't supposed to be there. (At 3:35 "I was not supposed to be there with my bike") A bomb falls, incinerating their body. Soon, the rest of the city/town is incinerated by bombs also.( 4:21 "I have gone along with the melted remains of Mama's toys")
+Rarecrazy the original comment i wrote was from 2014 so let me try to piece together my original thought process again. but lemme see. it's possible that the music box isn't meant to be taken literally. either it is a metaphor for something or, since the narrator is a child, that is the first thing that comes to mind when they attempt to explain their death. tho i have fuckall idea what i was thinking a year ago so anyone's guess is as good as mine.
luna moon the music box could represent wartime factories, which would explain the toy soldiers killing themselves in the music boxes and there always being musicboxes playing in "far off lands"
Thank you very much for putting all the effort and time into this PV. Pumpking sounds very smooth when you use him. I especially love how you designed his parents. Thanks again!
Thank you! Sorry for my extremely belated reply - (1 month later...) I used a combination of programs. Flash (for animation), Photoshop (for stills), and After Effects.
Kikuo makes wonderful music! That's why people (like myself) love to cover his songs to begin with. People are entitled to their opinions on whether they enjoy a cover of a song more than how the original was vocalized.
I'm sorry I misinterpreted your comment! I couldn't read your tone of voice and I legitimately thought you were upset :,) (It's hard to tell with YT comments in general and some people are serious.) Thank you! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed my cover. Same here! He's one of my all time favorite composers.
Actually,at 2:55 or so, you can hear the comical sound when something is falling (like the whistle decreasing in pitch) and faint sounds of the rotors on what we would think of as helicopters but since they also used those at the front of planes (including bomber planes,) I can only imagine that's what it also sounded like. Plus, it says how everything seems distorted to him and things start disappearing and he himself fades to red and vanishes. He "can't have his bike here, not anywhere, at any time" because the bomb fell on them-this is also obvious from the numerously mentioned wind as the explosion of the atomic bomb would have (obviously) had a strong impact on the wind right before being obliterated by it. I know there is more to it, but I'm just going to shut up now.
Only reason for watching this again, is not because I enjoy nightmare fuel, but because I can't find this guy's voice anywhere else and I find it adorable as he hops up and down.
I really want you to make more Pumpking covers. You make his voice sound so lovely, and I haven't found many other covers that used him as well as you. His little voice is too cute >v
So, had an idea. By the lyrics and some other theories, I believe this song to be about abortion, or, more specifically, a miscarriage/spontaneous abortion. But that doesn't explain the part about soldiers, sounds like planes, which would make me think about a war. By doing some research, I found out something that may be able to link those two theories. Apparently, a misscariage can be an outcome from major trauma. My theory's that the kid's parents lived somewhere suffering a war. The mother had a trauma (probabbly a stray bullet, or something like that) which led to the child's abortion. For the whole symbolism of the music box I suggest searching a bit for another theories, as I recall, it can be interpreted as how the fetus is treated after abortion
+Douglas Oltramari Listen to the lycris:"My milky skin.", fetuses don't have skin. I believe the little child was riding a bike when a nuke hit her. *Plus* the parents really can't look at a fetus..
+Burried Alive and the music box, she could of been going to the store to buy it, so when she was returning back home, the nuke hit her near the house where they saw her..
wow this is really lovely! And the animation is such beautiful! He sounds extremly fitting for this song omg. Also this is such fitting for halloween aaaa ;v; great job!
Have you checked that the "Mod" setting in the Note Property window is 0, and not "blank"? Leaving Mod blank is going to take the sound modulation straight from the raw voice clips. If this doesn't help, private message me for further assistance. Thank you, I appreciate that you dig my work!
Ya know, it did say he was rolling down hill really fast. It could imply he was going down hill in a road and slammed into an oncoming car, which would make the force of the impact more... well violent
This song kind of sounds like the kid hit a bump on his bicycle and fell into a woodchipper... Just. Does anyone else think that? It's twisted, but. Music box prongs? Rainbow? Or the curve of the woodchips spewing out, and melting? Being turned to all those pieces and all the blood.
Him being a pumpkin makes the death seem a lot tastier :3 That aside, this sounds amazing! It's definitely one of the best covers I've heard of this song!
It's about a kid who has an accident while riding his bike. His support wheels get stuck in something and as he rides down a hill at full speed, he flies off the bike and finally hits the ground and dies. Put yourself in the child's shoes and listen to the song-the lyrics perfectly describe the events through his sensations.
EXPLOSIONanimeTV It's not contradicting anything. The lyrics are just really poetic. This is one of Kikuo's most straightforward songs, though I can see how some people can get distracted by the flowery imagery. It's very similar to Soshite Kimi wa Tsuki ni Natta on that regard.
Me: this is really well made! for someone who i just seen! i think ive never seen him before! Song: finishes Me: Ah! lets see who made it... _Steel_ Wait... HOW DID I NOT KNO-
this comment is over 2yrs old but id like to let yall know that "pimpking" is an ableist character by a transphobic lesbophobic piece of garbage who draws fetish art for children :)
@@awfulq ... mx bones... who is trans themself... is transphobic, lesbophobic, and despite vocally stating their distaste for lolicon and shadman, draws fetish art for kids...?
