For anyone who is wondering what happened at 2:12, the ghost (Or the recorded race of the player played by an AI) barely hit the box, which wasn't supposed to happen, and made the race desync.
@yeah 5 he’s not saying that wista is an ai, he’s saying that an ai is used to copy the exact inputs made by wista to make a run that is theoretically the same as the original run, but a bug made it screw up.
@@dkg2006 so what abt them ghosts back then that had 8 secs on dk mountain and they were just in a bush stationary? I needed an explanation for this im so confused
To those who are wondering, this is not tas neither did he fail, this is just a glitch in Mario Kart Wii where the ghost data get corrupted. During the race he did not hit that box, he finished the race legitimately, in fact you can still see him drifting when he was supposed to drift.
For anyone having trouble understanding this. In Mario Kart Wii, replays aren’t actually real replays, replays are AI that mimic the original player, Wista wasn’t a bot, they were a real person, but their movements were so perfect the Replay AI failed to replicate Wista’s movements by hitting be box at 2:10. The AI kept doing whatever Wista’s future movements were because it can’t actually know what it is doing, it is made to mimic the original player, not play by itself. tldr: Wista’s movements were so perfect that even a robot made to replay everything they did failed to do so
This video has enriched me and made me a better man. My whole life has been cracked open and the future is full of potential. I’d like to thank RU-vid for this opportunity to witness Dry Bowser’s majesty on the race course.
this wasn’t him. this track has a problem with the bridge. sometimes the ghost will desync and not replay properly; in fact, the ghost did not hit the wall at all.
The ghost got corrupted and de-synced randomly when the kart barely hit the crate. He actually finished the run, which is why you can still see him appearing to play weirdly after he came to a stop (the inputs for his run were still saved). For some reason, ghosts have done this on this track and Maple Treeway throughout history, and it’s said to be a 1 in 600 chance that this happens. It actually happened to a player named Bob in his 2:09.288 former kart world record on this track on the last turn of lap 2, but thankfully he recorded the replay after he finished to save his world record. This player actually recorded the replay of this run after he finished as well and it’s in another one of his uploaded videos on his channel :)
He didn't mess up, your ghost can desync on the track sometimes, People think it might be due to how the bridge is loaded at the start or something. On that note I wish some of these Japanese Karters came back to the game, they were really good back in their prime
