Kana Uemura is amazing! Not only is she a beautiful and talented singer, songwriter and guitarist, but her voice and lyrics are uplifting and inspirational as well, as she brings to life a folksy ballad-style of music that essentially disappeared from the American mainstream and Western consciousness some 40 years ago with the passing of Joan Baez and the death of Karen Carpenter. Uemura also reflects the talents of her contemporaries in the J-pop folk genre, specifically Shiho Ochi of "Superfly", Moshino, and even Hikaru Utada - all of whom, incidentally, are uniquely talented in their own special way. Glad to have come across this video on a cold and grey winter's day...
