This song is an anthem for the older Japanese. The song was written by Ise and sung by Iruka ( she is not from their band). Beautiful song

The translation of "NAGORI YUKI" is "memorable snow." This song has a nice melody, but it is mainly impressed by the content of the lyrics, so it is recommended to check the lyrics in English.

日本にも世界に通用するメロディがたくさんあります。英語でないので欧米諸国に広く歌ってはもらえないのだけど。誰か英語でいい歌詞をつけてカヴァーを出してほしいものです。

Thank you for choosing Nagoriyuki. I am a big fan of the Kaguyahime and Iruka (it means dolphin, but her artist name is IRUKA). The man in the left, Shozo Ise is the composer of Nagoriyuki. He and the man in the center, Kosetsu Minami are the member of the Kaguyahime, the original singer of the song, in the album titled "Sangaidate no Uta" (Three-story Song) in 1974. Iruka covered Nagoriyuki in 1975 and it became her first big hit single. So the performance you watched is a rare collaboration of 'birth parent' and 'foster parent' of Nagoriyuki!

Thank you very much for your comment! For me, it is amazing that the song’s emotional feeling come over foreign people by the melody, even if you don’t understand Japanese lyrics. Nagoriyuki is a song about a farewell at a train station. The title means snow in early-spring. The composer Shozo Ise has excellent ability to describe sentimental feelings between four seasons in Japan. Iruka's vocal is very good match to the song, and the arrangement of her version is superb, especially piano at the intro. Nagoriyuki has been loved by many people for almost 50 years, and now it became Japanese standard number for early spring seasons.

イルカは固有名詞なのでDolphinと英語に訳すのは間違いです。Irukaと表記して欲しい。 Since イルカ is a proper noun, it is wrong to translate it into English as Dolphin. Please write it as Iruka.
