I want this dude to play on my marriage, birthdays and funeral unironically. *EDIT:* this comment is over 2 years old and I didn't know that person in costume is a woman. I didn't break Geneva Convention with my original comment, please stop.
He probably gets paid much more than you think. In japan, rather than states, they have prefectures. Each prefecture has a mascot depending on specific things about the area. This cat comes from the Aomori prefecture, and it’s name is “Nyango Star”. It’s first name is a hybrid of the Japanese onomatopoeia “Nyan” meaning “meow” and the second part comes from the word “ringo” a word Japanese for “apple”. (The prefecture is known for its apples) it’s last name “star” comes from the drummer Ringo Star. Nyango has been described as “50% apple, 50% cat, 100% metal.” Mascots are extremely important to the Japanese culture as a representative of each prefecture/community. He probably gets paid a ton for holding such an important job.
@@oliviagarden9460 That's actually good to know. I was just kidding, I know he gets payed a good amount of money. I mean, who wouldn't be payed that much if you were playing the drums wildly while you're inside that costume? Japan is pretty cool 🤟
Born too early to explore the universe born too late to experience people being nice to each other , Born just fucking right in time to see a japanese mascot go full death metal in a kids function
Ive been a metal drummer of at least mediocre ability since 2001 & ive seen a lot of talent over the years displayed in drummers of many genres & styles, but this stands alone in its unmatched speed & accuracy. This may just be another viral video, mildy appealing to most but aside from the unbelievable abilities exhibited, its truly a testament to nothing short of undeniably extraordinary talent in considering limited vision, awkwardly forced range of motion along with the obvious heat factor. Without a missed beat & exertion required in stamina, endurance & agility, although probably an under appreciated effort but take my word that this, to me is recognized solely for its merit as an achievement simply described as impressive & rises above its viral video status. The only shame is in the obvious anonymity inherent in wearing a dorky costume because id happily shell out the dough for a cd of this guys headbang inspiring originality & highly respectable contribution to metal, but make no mistake of my true admiration & acknowledgement for this insanity & the sheer sacrifice involved, thanks crazy japanese costume wearing dude!
I hope you've also checked out some of the drummers for the original songs, because they are also insane, for example: Hideki for Babymetal and Yoshiki of X-Japan
@pushingforward27 Like the crazy japanese costume wearing dude shines amongst costume wearing dudes, your comment shines amongst youtube comments. Shoutouts to you, sir.
His name is: Nyango Star, which is a reference to Ringo Star the drummer, and both apple and cat. Nyan means meow and ringo means apple (I made a mistake before).
Man...that dramatic pause at: 6:44. In all seriousness here, you can clearly see that he/her puts his/her heart and soul into drumming and making people smile. Just great. It makes me want to move forward with me life.
Now I get it - Nyango Starr seems like a play on Nyan (Japanese way of saying kitty) Ringo Starr (the Beatles guy and also Ringo is also a Japanese word for apple). Since Aomori where this guy is from is famous for apples. And he is an Apple-Cat hybrid
Let me tell you about costumes. I was the Easter bunny one year and just sitting still waving never talking ,indoors with air conditioning was death. After about 3 hours you are soaked head to toe. This is the. Visual definition of insanity
awrebyawe the double bass speed is most likely between 200-220bpm. Pretty standard for metal and heavier sub genres such as slam or deathcore can get up to speeds up 230-290bpm.
@@TFOCyborg haha, well, I guess it would go all over the metal/music industry news sites, but maybe would be best to let Nyango do what Nyango does best.
drumming aside, this is probably the best Babymetal song that nobody talks about. When people think about Babymetal, they'll immediately think of Megitsune, Gimme Choco, etc, but never Akatsuki Benitsuki
with that costume he's basically playing blindfolded and playing drums with long sleeves are a pain let alone having an entire costume covers your entire body and shorten your hand movements as a fellow drummer i respect this truly
I like how whoever is in that suit actually plays a character and isn't just a drummer in a suit. . Someone trained to do this.. someone took time out of their life to be this good of a drummer, and put this suit on.. someone.. is the true hero of the japanese people..
This is why I hate the argument of "It's just for kids, who cares?". It's stuff like this that give kids ambition. Seeing someone go all out on something they love to do touches the hearts of youngins everywhere and it makes them want to do their best too. Always strive for excellence, never be okay with second best.
I came here from the video with a idiot saying that the two videos were overlapped and it was fake. He called us fanboys and we just worshipping our god, thankfully a priest gave proof it wasn't fake.
I was hoping for at least a photo at Summer Sonic in 2017, both Babymetal with the Kami band and Nyango Star on the same day at the same location (different stage/time).
The dexterity this beautiful person has while inside that enormous costume makes me slightly envious when comparing my dexterity while outside of a costume not that I've ever worn one while playing before, I swear
Those kids are damn lucky, they are experiencing something that not a lot of people can experience. It’s truly amazing to witness something so amazing. She’s inspiring me to go back and play drums and play from the heart. I hope I can become as amazing as her one day
That suit must have some kind of internal cooling system. I would've died from a heat stroke trying to pull that off, especially on a bright sunny day! :o
They need to cameo this character in an Aggressive Retsuko episode. I could picture her doing the karaoke bar thing, stumbling in on this guy by going into a wrong studio room (which is set up for drums) and noticing him there in the back while being all embarrassed after half starting... And he gestures "No wait!" and "Start again!" and then epicness ensues. It'd also be funny to follow that with some kind of in-joke thing where they randomly run into each other outside, like that knowing look back to the awesome moment - but the others around wouldn't understand.
