I've always had an appreciation for combiners like this that don't follow the Scramble-City 5-bot scheme. Magnaboss and JRX/Railracer still stand as two of my all-time favorites. :) I never got a good look at Ramhorn's face before this video (1:27); MAN he's kinda terrifying lol.
this toy literally spell summer childhood in Japan ,cicada buzzing through the entire ,day , going to countryside or forest on a camp and catching beetles and go on a BBQ and dip at Riverside and hunt crayfish for fun
I had this set when I was a kid. It was alright, but I remember having a very difficult time trying to transform Hardshell (or was his name Ramhorn?). Not from Beetle Mode to Robot Mode, that was very easy. The real hassle was to get him to transform back from Tripedacus' arms back to Beetle/Robot Mode.
@@kabuto1859 huh, well that's one way to get your enemies on your side, just paint them a different color and they'll work for you. They don't even need to fight each other, the Maximals could all just sneak up on the predacons and paint them and they'll be good guys
DJ(the cicada), Motorarm(the beetle) and Gimlet(the lobster) are actually Maximals/Cybertrons in their animated appearance during Beast Wars II, despite being sold on the Beast Wars box as Predacons. Something similar happens to Magmatron, whose box says he's a heroic Maximal, but he turns out to be the leader of the predacons in his TV appearance at Beast Wars Neo.
***** American and Japanese continuities are a mess, but it's not their fault: the fact that BW was set in the same continuity already than G1 was hidden until the late second/early third seasons, and those were not dubbed to Japan until AFTER beast Wars II and Neo were made (in fact, both were made to act as filler time until they had Season 3 dubbed, due to the fact that Season 2 was shorter than Season 1 (it was 13 eps against the 26 Season 1 had), so they made both series to wait until they could dub and package both Seasons 2 and 3. That's why those seasons have the name Beast Wars Metals: it not only indicates the appearance of Transmetals, but also that, due to the break, they can't just call it the same (in the G1 happened something very similar, as Seasons 3 and 4 were both known as Transformers 2010 in Japan; recently also with RID, which is called Transformers Adventure in Japan until the return of Optimus, and then it changed to Transformers Adventure Arms of Microns)
