PSA: Gorillas 'sniff' each other in "that area" in order to check if said gorilla is healthy or sick. Presumably so they know not to play with said gorilla if he or she is sick. People anthropomorphize gorillas too much.

Ok, so I found a study of maternal gorilla behavior that was done with Nene and Ai when Ai was an infant. The researchers observed Nene licking the walls and the concluded that it’s *probably an abnormal reaction to stress. They noted that Nene taught the infant to link the walls…so on and so forth

This video is wonderful! Kiyomasa is such a cuddle-bug. He is always trying to get a hug from females. Trying to put his little hand under Annies arm to get a hug. At 1:28, So cute how Kiyomasa is trying to get a cuddle from his sister, Annie. He cannot slip his hands between her arm to hug her, so he then hugs her head and giving kisses and Annie is acting like, "UGH, Big brothers do not know how to respect personal space! Come on big Brother, don't get too mushy with me! LOL!" Annie is a spunky and beautiful little sweet girl. I love watching them.
