wow i LOVE THE EUPHONIUM...GREAT JOB ! BTB I am a professional horn player, retired after a 53 year carrier. Your band sounds better than MOST American bands... my congratulations !
Excellent in every way. One minor correction: The name of the march appears at the beginning in the upper lefty hand corner. Please note that Mr. Sousa's middle name has one "l" not two. Therefore, it should be Philip.
The playing here just can't be beat !!! I am a professional Horn player for 58yrs. now... the best I have ever heard ! And that includes the US Marine band !
I agree it is very good but you did not listen to NBC Orchestra under Arturo Toscanini (1944 recording). Super super fantastic. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GcV7lgHHR_Y.html
I disagree with Maestro Fennell’s tempo. Now, I worked closely with him while he visited the University of Puget Sound Wind Ensemble. And whenever questioned, he would take on the question(not the questioner) with his vast knowledge of both Sousa and his written legacy of marches. Nevertheless, Sousa would not march his band down Pennsylvania Ave, WA, D.C. at this tempo: roughly 132. Sousa would march closer to 120.
