Shelties are one of the favorite pet dog breeds in Japan, and just as loved over there as they are in the West. Look up Hachiko sometime if you get a sudden urge to open your mind a teeny tiny little crack.
Oh, and as an additional information, I've had dogs, cat, frogs, fishes, crabs, butterflies, bird, and many other creatures as pets, but I have not once tortured them or eat them. My current shelties are very loving dogs and when they die I will get extremely depressed because I love them very much. And yet, I'm Asian. Problem?
3) Western countries also did whaling until fairly recently in order to get whale blubber which was a great source for making fire. Can you truly say that it was and is all "Asian" people's crime? 4) Yes, Japanese do whaling and we catch dolphins as well. But the majority of the Japanese population are not aware about this, and most of the meat circulates to a very small area (if not, they are sold as fish meat so people aren't aware).
Excuse me. I am a Japanese and let me inform you some things. 1) We don't eat dogs. That was never really our thing. At one point in history, a warlord made it illegal to hurt dogs in any way, and starved the human population in order to feed the dogs well. 2) Don't summarize "Asians" as a whole. Not all Asians eat whales or dolphins or dogs. You are offending those who are not included in those group.
4 contd) Can you criminalize someone who isn't being told the truth? What if someone comes up to you when eating McDonald's burger and says "Oh hey, turns out you're eating human flesh so we're gonna charge you of murder". 5) I had never came across whale or dolphin meat in Japan, and had never been served one. In fact, only two people I know have ever tried it - and I live in a rather big city. These meat hardly seem to circulate the nation so quite naturally we are unaware about it.
