The first time I tried sushi all my friends said it looked like a had a dial on my back someone was turning making my face go more and more green lol turns out it was just terrible sushi!

The first time I had sushi, I had to spit it out; it was so terrible! lol, I sympathize. But, at that same meal, I also had miso soup for the first time, and that was delicious. :)

Mayo on corn is common in California. Tons of people selling it on the streets. Sounds bad, but it's fun and tastes awesome, actually.

flinx In L.A. I say "tons" of people, but I have tendency to exaggerate. I've only ever visited L.A. and San Diego, so maybe I was just lucky to see the three or four that I did (plus it was quite a while back that I last visited. 2008, I think), but even my father who lived in L.A. for several years told me there used to be several (Mexican) vendors on the street selling roses and corn on the cob doctored up. I've done a little bit more reading, and it seems like the SoCal cities are cracking down on this practice, so I really think I was just lucky that I saw that many the last time I visited and it really isn't that common anymore! My bad. Corn with a little mayo *does* taste pretty good, though. Sounds odd, maybe even gross, but it's tasty.

Japanese mayo is so good HNNNG. It's not really like sour or something, it's kinda sweet and more creamy

The carousel is cool, but it's a bit of a novelty. For those who are interested, I believe Fune (near Adelaide and University) has one. I can't afford to try it though, not when there are so many good sushi places in Toronto that don't charge such exorbitant prices.

chanm01 I like carousel for the amazing prices. Most restaurant sushi joints are much more costly. Other then those, there are all you can eat sushi bars in Toronto area but I am a very small eater so even those are over priced for a small eater. For someone like myself who is a small eater, carousel is the way to go.

Hope you don't mind a comment on something a month old. if you ever find yourself in Minnesota, we have a sushi bar that has an all-you-can-eat. There isn't a conveyor, but the food is quite delicious! I paid about $60 USD for the two of us and drinks, probably ordered a full dozen rolls between the two of us.
