This is like getting a $50,000 lesson for free. Anyone serious about improving their golf should watch this video multiple times and go out and practice, practice, practice.
Watching tiger woods hit bunker shots reminds me of watching Eric Clapton play guitar, or Tony Gwynn taking batting practice, just true masters at their craft, and you can learn so much from watching them. It's a joy watching someone do something so perfectly
Thank for posting this! My son and I were there that day watching him practice. It was the most incredible display of short game I’ve seen. The best part was there was only a few of us watching because that practice area is kinda hidden and it was on a Monday. The most impressive thing is on the 18:00 minute mark. My son and I were right behind him. Tiger started hitting a draw pitch that would spin left when it landed and he would switch to a cut pitch and the ball would spin right when it landed. We were in awe.
Yea he has the best tool bag of different shots and his short game is just incredible. But this is a good representation of hard work and practice, almost anyone can master something if you put in the time. He has definitely put in the time also need a bit of luck in golf.
To all you mid handicappers out there watching...notice how open his club face is on those bunker shots is and how full his swing. When you can get comfortable at opening up a 60° and taking a full swing from a greenside bunker, then you'll not be afraid of those bunker shots any more. If you aren't taking out divots like a backhoe from a greenside bunker, then you aren't swinging hard enough, or hitting enough sand. Lol
So much to learn from those bunker shots. Notice how he finishes his swing right up and round? That's the key right there in bunkers. Then you;ll be accelerating into the ball...The day I started focusing on my finish, every ball started getting out.
I could literally watch this all day long. The creativity in the way he's trying to change sidespin around the green is amazing. It makes me laugh because I play shots very similar to him, but some of the lower draw ones he hits are just beyond anything I've ever seen or tried. Definitely want to go practice that now lol
Tiger has played ever. But without your posting we can not know why he is so good.Last night I knew more of something golf than I thought. Thank you for your posting of good quality.
Tiger Woods how I play golf, a gift to me from my children after starting up this golfing game at 46, although twenty year Tigers age I practise as he showed in the book and soon won open competitions. More followed at senior level and I was given the name Bengal “ White Tiger” this was given via playing competitors with darker skin, so please take no offence, none I’m sure was is intended. All my equipment still have the name inscribed and I have a tiger teddy strapped to my bag, two beautiful Jamaican lovers, also in their sixties stopped to chat about such matters, so many thanks Mr Woods and get well soon, and to all that helped with my golfing enjoyment 🏌🏿♂️✌️🍻
The most interesting thing I noticed is the couple of rehearsal swings in the bunker. He unhinges his wrist and does an early flip. Looks like a bad amateurs early release in a normal full swing. But he’s just trying to have the clubface as wide open as possible so he exaggerates that move in his rehearsal swing.
Tells you how MUCH he is REALLY using his RIGHT hand, especially EFFECTING how the bounce gets into the sand, ALMOST OPPOSITE of what is taught!! There are a LOT of shots in this video, where if YOU TAKE THE TIME, you will see a VERY dominant use of his RIGHT hand, NOT his LEFT HAND being BOWED at IMPACT!
Golf is not about long distace as most think this days. Its about clubface controll and as long tiger plays golf...he will be nr 1. Pray for tigers comeback...he done it before when others did not think it was possible🙂 Go tiger...im waiting for your comeback and I no its comming!
lol that guy in the background is going about his business like its just another day at the office, nevermind the fact that Tiger Woods is practising his short game next to him!
If your score is over 100 and want to improve your approach shots in one week, try the baseball grip for your wedges. No left thumb on the club will make you stop hitting the ground instantaneously. It is because your right hand will be more in control of the club. I know nobody has the time and money to practice like Tiger. Try it at home. You will notice how easy it becomes.
I started do this last year - deliberately pushing the ball into holes etc. It was the single greatest thing I ever did to improve my chipping. Hit a few basic perfect chips to get a feel and then spend 20 minutes hitting crappy lies and learning all the techniques and swings speeds to hit those type of shots. Nothing, and I mean nothing, will improve you as a golfer faster than doing this. Get over the initial embarrassment of crappy shots and then starting digging holes. Do this a few days in a row and you will be a completely different person mentally.
He said his dad always used to do that to him. He said anyone can hit a ball from a good lie. Of course for most of us it really doesn't matter what lie we have...lol
Take NOTE GOLFERS!!! He's working on his chipping and pitching and the sand bunker... this is the only area at the golf course that's free to practice.. But everybody want to PAY $5/$10 go to the driving range get a bag of balls and see how far they can hit it!!! WORK ON YOUR SHORT GAME!!! IT'S FREE⛳
@@Toniitony Contrarily, I have seen people waste hours a week on the range and not lower their scores one bit. I personally do all of my practice on the course, but I think there is a happy medium, and it doesn't hurt that I'm able to play for free.
