If there was one performance I could use to introduce Gacharic Spin to someone, this might well be it. The song is catchy and I think well-written. Each member gets a chance to shine technically and artistically, and everyone contributes to raising the audience's frenzy level. Even though this isn't the current lineup, this version of the band is very much a part of their fabric. Their phase with Mai, Arisa, and Nene was key to shaping the direction the band would eventually take, but meanwhile those three gave 100% of themselves with every song they took part in. This performance is a great example of that.
Me watching a Gacharic Spin video: Oreo is my favorite. No wait, Koga, definitely. Wait, maybe it's Hana. Oh that guitar solo, Tomo-zo is the best! I can't decide! This happens almost every time, a testament to how truly fun and talented each of them are.
OK, that keyboard solo act was just... THIS is why you go to live shows. It's like BABYMETAL but playing instruments. Must be fun being an engineer for this band.
I just realized why Koga is such great bass player. During her solo, my goodness, her hands are so big. With those long fingers she can really get around that fretboard. She is great.
Koga's bass lines on this song just kick it - the combination of super-slapping and very intricate finger-style patterns really help to push the melody
Looks like these girls still put on a fantastic show! That dueling keyboard solo bit was just ridiculous in the best way. Who's the singer? I know it's not the original girl and she does a great job fronting the band as well as being damned pretty. :) Koga-san, as usual, kills it on the bass; I adore her!
... and she (Oreo) is channeling the original vocalist, Armmy, to a tee. I think I even hear her yell out "thank you sexy" after the end of the song. That was pure Armmy.
WHAT? No comments yet! The triple spin in the beginning is worth a "Like" all by itself! These kids are awesome! (I'm old, they're kids...) I wanna spend New Year's Eve with GS! They know how to have a good time!!!!!! (I miss Nenne, too...)
@@AgentFour I think both dancers/performers were late-teens or early-twenties at this concert. They are committed to involving up-and-coming talent. Some of them, like the present-day Angelina 1/3, really blossom in their involvement with GS.
Even though their undeniable talent I'm not a fan of these girls frantic chaos. But I must admit this is a great song, Oreo steals the show everytime performs it, not to mention Armmy's memories.
Why is it these Japanese girl bands (not just Gacharic Spin) that have a gimmick (costumes, choreography, dancers, etc) are the ones who don't need it because they are just so talented? Just wondering...
Because Japanese entertaiment business is made by man and audience expect Girls band to have kawaii , sexy and Otaku elements rather than musician skill. I can say this reflect lack of respect to women in Japanese society.
Stop imposing your values and beliefs. This is Japan. And can't you feel that they and the audience are smiling and really enjoying themselves? Even if it may seem strange from abroad In many ways, I'm glad I was born in Japan. I generally like the old history and traditions, the Japanese way of enjoying, working relatively hard, and observing the rules, "all inclusive".
Koga said in a very early interview that she saw KISS and wanted to put on an amazing performance like them with the costumes, theatrics and huge show. I agree that they don't need it as they are all world class musicians, but it sure makes it a lot more fun to watch because you never know what they are going to do next to blow you away
