Wow I wish she were better known in the US and toured here more. She is really one of the finest young violinists in the world and this is a wonderful Chaconne -- sparkling, technically perfect but also really thoughtful and interesting. I love her judicious use of vibrato and great variety of colors -- this piece demands so much of the player to keep it varied and interesting, since it is a very long theme and variations. She is very liberal with her tempo changes but I like it -- it's tastefully done. Like Isabelle Faust she does a great job of bringing out flute- and organ-like tones out of her violin but also the brilliant ringing sounds of the upper two strings.
"On one stave, for a small instrument, the man writes a whole world of the deepest thoughts and most powerful feelings. If I imagined that I could have created, even conceived the piece, I am quite certain that the excess of excitement and earth-shattering experience would have driven me out of my mind." - Johannes Brahms about Bach's Chaconne
As one of the japanese violinist, I'm very proud of her. She present clearly one of the answer of this tune. And very thank you for uploading, thank you.
