Been there, done that. Just take a camera from any small Blade drone and use the Fat Shark goggles. Works good for slow drifters like these but WAAAAYYY to much motion blur/sickness on the regular Mini-Z “grip” cars.
I saw something just like that at a NASCAR race. There was a setup for drone racing, and the operators all wore what looked to be VR goggles. Basically they were seeing the drone's perspective while racing. It was fun watching when the drone wouldn't quite make the turn and blast right into a solid metal pole, parts everywhere.
wow that carefull driving after the bump from the white car against the wall respect to the guy who drove the white car not to hit the others. u could see him breaking and turning away from the oncoming traffic. its around 9:18.
What scale/class of racing is this? I used to race 1/10 stock/mod/nitro and 1/12 mod road back in the 80's and 90's. I've been out of the loop but it looks like just as much fun as racing 1/12 was.
As stated earlier these are Kyosho Mini-Z. Tracks all over the world and a bunch of manufacturers. Track is made by RCP, you can buy it and set it up in your basement, driveway, etc. It’s a foam tile. Warning though, these are just as expensive if not MORE than 1/10 cards... it’s very easy to modify a car and be over $1000.
Since you're into it.. mini Z is designed as an indoor RC hobby since there aren't many places you can play full sized, outdoor RC cars in Japan. There are racing chassis with higher top speed and lower speed chassis configured to perform 4WD drifting (powersliding would be a better term, but they labelled as 'drifting' officially). Both are fun in different ways and both require premium skills :)
The only thing I can think of is if it kinda like Nascar. I don't really follow Nascar, but where you place in one race can determine your starting position in another. Maybe this is a racing league of sorts.
These are Kyosho Mini-Z cars. The track is made by RCP. Very popular around the world. Atomic and a few others make chassis as well but Kyosho is the original “brand” for Mini-Z. This is a drift race so the cars are MUCH slower. Go watch one of the PN Racing World races and see just how fast these little guys are, it’s crazy!
