While I agree her Japanese releases are amazing, you haven't lived in the early 2000s in Korea. Literally every girl wanted to be her in that era. She was and still is a household name in Korea.
Other people listen to Wham or whatever when it is Christmas. This is MY Christmas song before anyone else. I have listened to it every Christmas since she first sang it. Including the version where the audience sings back to her, which is still one of my favorite music videos.

Just like a lot of people here, pd48 brought me here! Personally I like the japanese ver. better because I understand it better than Korean. Knowing the meaning of the lyrics while the pd48 contestants sang it gave me the feels 😢😢 I'm so sad that I have to say goodbye to some of the girls who sang this 😢😢
