It's sad but not every calf can live. Half of all calves die in the wild, Kamogawa has previously only lost one out of seven calves born, and only one more that died aged three years. This is not Kamogawa Sea World's fault or the fault of them being in a pool, rather, anyone of Lovey, Lara, Ran, Luna and Earth could be dead as babies, had they been born in the wild. It's really not fair to blame these on people who work tirelessly to provide the best care possible to their animals, and have shown time and again that their animals survive and thrive MUCH better than in the wild.
