I'm happy to see Riki stand up for himself to his dad. His dad is an ignorant sob. He's very aggressive and can go off for no reason.

I don’t think Ryu really wanted to correct his son, when I watched it in slow motion, he did it to shut up Akiko, all he did at 1st was touch his head when Riki covered it, then Riki jumped up saying I didn’t do anything wrong, Ryu gives a couple of really soft hits and Riki screams like crazy, Ryu just sits down, because Akilo was now calm. Auntie Akiko needs to let Ryu decide if Riki gets rough with the girls, but she is invested in them and loves Kalan a lot. Watch in slow motion the dynamics are amazing because Akiko did try to offer her arm several times and Riki pushed it away because he was upset. At one time Akiko was very protective of him also.

Adding to my little rant, it would be interesting to watch the twins grow and develop and what their behaviour will be. As far, the larger sister is aggressive always hitting and kicking the others and not just to her sister but to everyone so far and the smaller sister keeping calm and passive like Riki. Just my observation so far.

You know I have been a loyal follower of all your videos. I feel like I understand the gorillas and enjoy their behaviors. I love the twins, and Kazumi, and the other females even Riki, but the males including Riki scare me. I know they’re doing what chimpanzees do. It’s a complex family dynamic. This is the way they are, it just, well they act like some humans and it truly frightens me. I will continue to watch but inside I wish they were more like Bonobos. I hope they all live long fulfilled happy lives. Wish I could think more like Jane Goodall.

Riki loves his two sisters. He would never harm them. Karan simply gave a little chirp and Akiko(aunt with one arm)stepped in and Riki got upset and hit her. She then protested by screaming her head off which is good enough to piss anyone off so dad goes and disciplines Riki just to shut her up. Riki is a loving boy. His dad and other males are more dangerous and have gone off on the group many times. They are very aggressive. Back in 2013, they beat Rikis mom for about 15 minutes non stop while he tries to protect her with his little 2 year old body. There is a video of the beating of the 4 males beating her without mercy.

I’m glad Riki got his butt handed to him by Dad. He’s rough with twin girls and one arm aunt who will protects girl.

Moral of the video: Don’t hit the mother in the head, when she’s telling u “ur playing too rough” with her kid, then say “it’s ok” to hit the mother when the mother knows ur wrong. 😏 Go momma chimp and go Adult male chimp! for hitting the adolescent male that hit the mother. 🤘😎 Did u see how fast the male chimp left after he hit the mom? Like nothing happened? Then he comes back to the group like he’s innocent. The he starts to tap her like he only did that, which obviously adult older chimp knew better. 😎

Why where they hitting

Riki was playing with the one sister and she made a squeak and that's when the aunt is started on Riki. He gave her a quick slap and went on. She kept at it until Ryu stepped in and hit Riki. Riki was just doing what he was taught to do. All of the four males in this group are extremely violent and by having Riki taken away from his mother and sisters to be grouped with the males, he is just doing what he was taught. The males beat and tortured Riki over the past two years so he toughened up to survive and now when he acts up everyone freaks out on him. Riki was one of the most calm and kindest little chimps I have seen and being separated from his mother before years before he should have by the zoo was uncalled for. It shouldn't of happened. They were trying to protect their precious twins which are cash cows for them for people to pay to go and see. Riki would never hurt those twins and for the zoo to play God and separate them was atrocious. Riki has separation anxiety being separated and yet able to see them through the glass was excruating for him. Watch the past videos and his behaviour. You don't have to be a clinical physiologist to see the pain he was going through. Anyone with half a brain and compassion could see it. Then there is the mental and physical abuse from the males. Perhaps if you go back to 2013 when Riki was only 2 or 3 when those same 4 big males beat on his mother for 15 minutes mercilessly non stop and he was desperately trying to stop them by putting his little body in between them to protect his mother. They slapped, kicked, bit and tore at her mama parts the entire time. I never knew how tough a chimp was to one, give a beating and second, to take a beating. Riki is a victim of his surroundings. This zoo is well known for their aggressive males and now turned Riki into one.. I strongly believe this zoo turned them into this because they separate the group and should never. They are suppose to be a family and if they have issues, they will work them out and should never play God by separating them because this is the result. These were once wild chimps removed from their natural environment or a generation after that then placed into a completely different world where they are forced to go against their own basic instincts which was hard wired from birth. These apes are part of a family which are herded like cattle, separated and placed into confined spaces for viewing or outside habitats for so called foraging. It may look like they are having a good time but would you like doing the same dam thing for 60 years or more?!?
