I was so confused about why this song was for the Ashiato event. Like I know the 25ji 2DMV had the theme of connection, but the original backstory of the song is (all religious references aside) about betraying someone you love deeply, right? Then it hit me. Mizuki is more like the maid in this song, not the witch. They feel like they have betrayed and manipulated Ena by lying about telling their secret.
It makes a lot of sense that you say that because it proves that ena is the witch because when it’s showing the witch with the people she is helping it reminds me of ena wants to help people like when ena asks mizuki to tell her what’s going on with them
OH MY GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH I'VE BEEN NEEDING THIS I'VE BEEN CRAVING THIS I'VE BEEN WANTING THIS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Going purely on the mv, the story I think is happening is (I’m gonna call them yellow and pink) pink comes to town as a traveling magician, yellow gets close to her, starts helping her with her act(you can see her holding a bird cage while pink is showing off doves) but when the witch hunt starts pointing fingers at pink, she tries to deflect by calling yellow the witch… Which was actually true and she ran. But she went back to say goodbye to pink knowing that just because pink called her a witch, the town would still burn her. Cus the witch hunts suck. I know this is prob wrong but I like my interpretation especially because there’s a point early on where you see yellow and pink switch spots and yellow has the witch hat which could symbolize her telling pink she’s a real witch and can help her show
the mv is a metaphor for jesus (pink witch seen as a divine entity performing miracles, the halos, the fish motif, the crosses, the doves, the martyr sacrifice) and judas (yellow cape, follower of the witch, entranced and wanting to be closer but can't because of her divinity). the witch knows she will be betrayed (2:20) and announces it at 2:25, which leads the maid to run away, like judas during the last supper. she goes to the autorities and denounces the witch in exchange for a handful of coins. the betraying kiss of judas here is represented by a last dance, with the two of them crying because they both know what it means. the man at 1;02 represents mary magdalene. its heavily inspired by dazai osamu's novel, 'an urgent appeal', its a great but short read i highly recommend it
the supposed witch in the mv really looks like mizuki or maybe it's because the witch has pink all over😭 ans the maid also has ena vibes or maybe it's the color scheme again too🚶♀️
I have always thought that the maid was Mizuki because she represented Judas lying and her also lying to Ena, but your comment made my opinion change again. Woah its so hard to define something sometimes...
@@lolyaminorch both meanings makes sense. The first one is mizuki thinking their betraying Ena by not telling her their secret but in the second one is Mizuki thinking that Ena will betray them/leave them if they tell her their secret(in the 2dmv’s case, the maid being a witch is the secret, which actually correlates with Mizuki’s secret being about their gender.)
Was it the one called FANDOMS REACT TO MARI / p5 + pjsk? Because that’s where I first heard the song and I spent 2 hours trying to find it :( Edit: I am stupid, the video was posted a couple weeks ago and this comment was a year old
