My hometown, Fyi this town used to be very special with a lot of vegetables bamboo basket making. Many tourist will stop by before heading Cameron. I hope Perak government will make it another tourism place.
Many old craft and street food will disappear when the next generation lacking any motivation to continue their family businesses. This is sad but true. This is not easy to remedy, unless the state government has the intiative and will to engage professional ideas to revive those values, just like in Penang and Ipoh.
My hometown too. I used to stay besides Tong Yuen Restaurant and then Jalan Raja opposite the bus station. I am sad looking at this video as it brings back memories of my late parents, uncle and extended family. The late Loh Jee Mee was the MP for Batang Padang in 1969. I still ring Tong Yuen Restaurant owner's sister and talks to her. I am now overseas very far away. Too expensive to come back.
OMG I feel like crying. This is the place that I get raised by my grandpa and grandma. For now they both already passed away is in heaven. I still remembered I cycling with my grandpa and grandma to their food court near the bridge to help out them. And my primary school is Keung Hwa and my secondary school is Sri Tapah. Then after form 1 I moved all the way to Ipoh. This the place why are i missed the most
❤❤❤👍👍👍❤ tks for uploading.this docu. is a little short, i remembered if you walk or drive a little further up from the bus station , on a left hand side, a small hillslope there is a small little cafe restoran, a quiet and peaceful comfortable place to take a rest and have something to eat . i remembered the owner is a young good pleasant looking guy and his wife and his cousin brother and their family helped out to serve the customers, the guy call ah Beu, i remembered them very well, he saw me and the tourists coming , a charming smile greet us. it is a rest house ,, one can put up there a night or two, just to get away from the bustling life in the city. those trees surrounded the whole area , all day long gives a very pleasant feeling. i wonder if they still there or they already moved .😪 with my pleasant memory, i missed them.a little away fron the town, on the way to cameron, or to ipoh, there are lots of bamboo basket waivers. The small cafe restaurant called THE LITTLE HOUSE..

Actually I am treating the whole series as personal vlog / travelogue to places that hardly people notice anymore as personally we love to explore small places Not really a full fledged doco, our manpower only has 2 plus a vo guy in post dubbing stage. It's really exhausting to create with such limitations
Many people know Tapah while going up Cameron but most dont stop there, say for a drink or food, l tried one restaurant in town that was quite good and reasonable pricing.
When I was there, only one restaurant opened in the afternoon (non halal food). I think it will be an issue for tourists to find food, unless they don't mind KFC Do you still remember the name of the restaurant?
@@10cFILM From Singapore the bus will use Tapah Road to the Cameron Highlands, if I’m in Ipoh the bus will most probably use Simpang Pulai route which is more comfortable and less prone to motion sickness.
Tapah is a pass by old route drive from Kampar towards Bidor…. Quite a town indeed for stop by a while… If I drive somewhere at late night or after midnight, no one knows a fella like me pass by….
actually the whole route from Bidor to Gopeng has so much to see, no harm stopping by any towns. Bidor, Tapah, Chenderiang, Temoh, Kampar, Gopeng all good places
Tapah is the District Capital of Batang Padang. The disrrict used to be bigger, encompassing the Muallim district. Nowadays, the Tapah traffic lights are notorious for causing jams. But back in the 80s, the whole district has only ONE traffic light in Tanjung Malim. The other notorious traffic light in Bidor also did not exist back then. KFC opened in Kampar & Bidor earlier than Tapah. In the middle of town used to have a couple of Mamaks beside each other (not sure if still exist); Restoran Haji & Restoran Haja. Restoran Haji now have branches in Klang Valley, if I'm not mistaken.
Saya pun orang Tapah. Awak kenal Loh Jee Mee? Beliau dah meninggal pada tahun 1997 dan kubur dia di tanah perkuburan Kristian. Atuk saya orang India dan nenek saya Cina. Mereka orang Tapah. Saya anak saudara Loh Jee Mee.
Saya nak tanya jika orang nak beli bas tiket Edaran di Tapah, dimana kaunter tiket? Di stesen bas Tapah? Dulu Restoran Caspian ada jual tiket. Sekarang mereka dah tutup.
Please dont come Tapah, we already damn jam every weekend by people jalan ke sini ke sana tapi sentiasa lalui Tapah. Also food price keep increasing due to some naive travellers. Like to say CHEAP! compare to KL and Singapore. So feel free to get out at Bidor, bypass Tapah, or get out at Gopeng bypass Tapah so Tapah can have a tranquil weekend. Thanks.
