Real change requires patience and wisdom. We must reflect on ourselves before complain and expect change from others. The right way forward is to keep supporting the unity government to effect change.
Just relax lah, its just a by-election lose, what's there to worry about. This is originally a PAS seat anyway, win back is already a miracle. Any government approaching mid term is always unpopular due to the changes in policies and the resulting pain. What's important is on the 4th and 5th year, the 1-2 years before the next election. Don't forget PH after sheraton move also perform like crap. Melaka, Johor, Sarawak state elections lose alot, but when GE15 came, they retained their base. I still remember in Melaka state election many Chinese were angry because PH accepts former frogs as candidates and boycotted PH, but in GE15 95% Chinese still support PH. PH and especially DAP is very good in fighting general elections because they always can create a narrative and atmosphere that successfully drive up the Chinese voting rate. As long as this government keeps itself from any big scandals, deliver tangible results, things would be better before GE16. And don't forget this government still have the trump card of redrawing electoral boundaries. Using MA63 as pretext, they can redraw fairer boundaries. While fulfilling Sabah & Sarawak's wishes, they can also break up stupidly big city seats like Petaling Jaya or Damansara into 2 seats like Ipoh Timor and Ipoh Barat while combining smaller kampung seats into one. The opposition can moan and complain all they like but they can't do anything about it. As an example, Margaret Thatcher, the longest serving UK PM in the 20th century. She was deeply unpopular in the middle of her first term because there was an economic recession and the changes she did to the British economy that results in huge unemployment. There were strikes and protest all the time but she ignored them. She went on to win handsomely in the next election because of the Falkland War and the economy also started to recover. Not to say Anwar need to start a war to win the next GE, but this is to show that if he can stay away from scandals, deliver results before the next GE, then there's a good chance PH will continue to govern, either in a coalition or even solo.
Chinese mentality, policies and projects must benefit me, don't take away my subsidies, price of food and goods must not increase then I will vote for you
He say he saw all the opinions! Obviously he did not see mine! The result mention, Chinese voters turnout only 47%! Let's assume the Malay who turnout all voting PN, and Chinese voters all voting PH! You still lost! So how can you confirm the remaining people not turnout will vote PN? Just because it's by-election, therefore the willingness to vote not as great as General Election! That's is the main reason! PH in charge not more than two years, you think the realist people will manipulate by PN! I can guarantee you all Chinese will still support PH, no matter what nonsense spill out from PN camp! Is the Malay voters, PH need to woo!
henrygoh 423, Agree with you! This is the only government led by a PM who offers hope for reforms. The opposition ? All , except one which has no say, are single race-based parties!
