Sir Nakano Gyozan your B. Pot is a true Master Piece & so perfect & beautiful it s a dream you are a fantastically skilled potter ! I truly love Japaneze Potz^tery & Raku so much we went for classes for a few years my Mum learned how to throw pottery & had er own studio where I tried different technics out, I enjoyed this it was relaxing. Our neighbour had a lot of Bonsai Plants & nice pots.
The hands of a master, you can always tell them from any other pair of hands, for they are the ones that use humble tools yet create masterpieces in every pot they make!
I dream of a day, long into the future, where I can make such masterpieces from muscle memory! Alas, I do not have that much time left, but as a master or an amatuer I love working the clay with my hands, I love how it feels as it gives way to your hands, forming into what you make it. Clay is one of the very first mediums that mankind for not only practical purposes but an everyday artistic form that people bought and put into their homes! The best kind of art there is, one that is useful for another purpose, not just art for its own sake. Japan has done very well in turning pottery into this kind of artform! Arigato Nakanosama! (deep respectful bow).
Judith Fenske Sure I could and I could wear earmuffs to drown out the sounds of the world around me on the daily... but, not practical and it was just honest feedback for him. I wasn’t the only one with this issue. I was with it for the first 3 mins but by the half hour mark I was looking sideways at my 9mm. RU-vid content producers like to know how the viewers feel and I was giving my opinion. Great video but maybe change up the music a few times in half an hour.....
I am in awe by his skill and focus on perfection. About 26 plus minutes into the creation. I feel like I missed a large segment when this amazing pot suddenly had feet and drain holes. I was looking forward to seeing how he would raise the pot and install the legs
White Dragon when making pottery, some artists talk about the orientation of the clay. With these old techniques, there usually a lot more going on than meets our hasty eyes.
You child! How silly to hurry the process.Master Potter ,50 years ago you were not even thought to be. He has made pots that long. It's the meditation of the hand built process . Obviously at this time you are a "quickie" Potter ,if at all.and most likely do have the patience of a Master. Keep trying child ,keep trying. Watch ,learn,do.
