Houston can be a tough city to enjoy, especially if you love outdoor activities. The summers are incredibly long and humid, making it uncomfortable to be outside. Additionally, the city has faced a lot of bad weather in recent years, and its infrastructure is not always up to handling it. If I had the chance, I wouldn't choose to live here.
Gulf of Mexico is the exit point for all the pollens year round. Austin is the worst for people with allergies and asthma conditions. In about two years, these problems will become more severe so just keep this in mind. Definitely southern California is the best place if you can afford it.
I like Houston. Houston's estate is cheaper than southern California. Houston's Rice university is a top 20 US college. They call it southern Ivy. Only downside is the summer weather is like Asia. Hot and humid.
