On the afternoon of July 10, President Xi Jinping held a ceremony at the square outside the east gate of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to welcome President Embaló of Guinea-Bissau to China. After the welcoming ceremony, the leaders of the two countries held talks. At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau paid a state visit to China from July 9 to 13. On the afternoon of July 10, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, who was on an official visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The leaders of the two countries announced that China-Bangladesh relations would be upgraded to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
