Un saludo desde España, un fan mas de esta Tachibana SHS Band fantástica, solo agradeceros lo bien que me lo hacéis pasar viendo y escuchando vuestra coreografía y vuestra música.
There are two bands in this combined concert. KT middle schools band musicians are in brownish skirts school uniforms BUT SHS band musicians have greenish skirts and wear maroon bows.
These Japanese song are so very pleasant to listen and played by the wonderful Tachibana band that always make me feel very alive and always looking and waiting for the newest video to watch.your band are marveloous....from winnipeg , Canada..
There two categories of school Brass Band/Club in Japan, The Marching band and the Wind Orchestra/Symphony band. Kyoto Tachibana can performed both but they excel most on marching, they spent most of their time practicing their marching. They can performed well as an orchestra playing their own style of music, while other school band really dedicated their club on orchestra or symphony, they play more emotional music like a master piece instead of marching tune. One good example is the Seika All Girls.
I agree that Tachibana is superior on the field marching, however, when it comes to orchestra, in my opinion, Tamana All Girls High School far and away is the best high school orchestra in Japan. Check them out and I think you will agree.
This "Band" is as good as Any "Professional Orchestra" I've ever heard! The quality of their playing is superb! By the way, love watching "Tippi" on those bongo's! she has the biggest and brightest smile, and it shows how much she enjoys being an "Orange Devil!" I'm an Orange Devil fan from the East Coast of the United States!

Everyone plays in the KT Wind Band. Color Guard, DM, Standard Bearers, everyone. Just be a little tough to be hauling those double bases and full sized Euphoniums (Euphonia?) on a parade route, so they move to other positions. DM Okazel is 4thd in from the end in the first line of clarinets. DM Ron should be in there on clarinet, too, but I didn't see her, and I didn't see DM Palinpu on piccolo, either. Not everyone plays at all times during these concerts- too many kids, not enough room. ..Joe
THis is why I like Tachibana, they play my favorite anime theme song in Yamato. Their music are very good and catchy! and there she goes again the hyper energetic young lady on the percussion! I think she's already in her 3rd year (senior) in Tachibana.
Hello! Tachibana is also very good at selecting music. The songs of Yamato and Ginga railroads of the animation at this time were unusual songs for Tachibana ♪ It is very nice.
Listening to their performances -- whichever of them I can find on You Tube -- has become a habit, a refreshing, rewarding habit. An exceptional marching band, an outstanding concert band of spritely musicians. I absolutely adore them.
I believe you're referring to "Tippi". She often plays xylophone during marching. She's definitely a fan favorite. I also believe she was in the band one more year (in 2018).
CG section leader "Milpy" from 114th class. Besides being CG section leader, she was also a member of the Music Score Staff responsible for preparing the musical score for sit-down performances, as well as Marching Composition Staff responsible for choreography and musical score of marching performances. She participated in both 2018 and 2020 Rose Parades. From 114th class, Milpy and Chippi have the two warmest and most endearing smiles, reflecting KT SHS's motto: Genki Ippai, Egao Ippai, Yume Ippai. (Full of energy, full of smiles, full of dreams)
No. They're the ones in the CG, Standard Bearers, positions like that. If you look at the forward-most double bass player, you'll recognize her as the last CG on the right at the Rose Parade. and the one giving out the high fives at the end of the Disney performance. ..Joe
Thank you so much. It's a great song and they play it so well. The Video work on this is outstanding! The camera takes you right up to the musicians where you can even see their eyes and their total construction.
You are correct about the commitment to professionalism. Japanese HS bands are dedicated musicians who don't do much else in HS outside the classroom. In America, there are very good HS bands, but few reach the heights of Japanese bands. In America, most have other commitments, perhaps to sports, families or even jobs. An example is my nephew and niece. My nephew plays football and plays in the band. His sister, is in the band front and also plays softball. Both graduate this year and are headed to different colleges.
