但係直接話人哋唔似土生土長嘅紐西蘭人,而吾理解個背景同原因點解會咁難搵到工,seems a bit unfair if you use your life experience to make a comparison 。只能話畢業之後遇着唔好嘅時期同環境。
I visited Auckland a few years ago and I could not believe how many Asian face I saw in the street whereas I hardly see any outside Auckland in NZ. I guess Asian population in Auckland at least 20%.....
I am a naturized New Zealander (Kiwi). The day I got my NZ passport, I booked a one way ticket to go and live in Australia decades ago until now just like lot of other Kiwi currently living in Australia. Once you become a Kiwi citizen, you will be automatically become a Australia PR and vice versa. The opportunity and the market in Australia is heap better than Kiwiland where the population is merely 5 millions around 1/6 of those of Australia. I had been in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal of Canada as I have family living in Toronto. I really do not see the reason to go and experience North America by living in Canada rather than Australia unless you enjoy the lakes, Rocky mountain and cold weather as the setting of both countries are quite similar except the landscape and climate. I think USA is a better place to experience the North America.
1. Why the heck did NZ enter into such a stupid reciprocating PR arrangement with Australia⁉ It is quite obvious that Aussie will suck NZ dry of talents and young workers under the scheme❗ 2. With a non-tech major in HR, it is virtually impossible for this Kiwi chap to obtain a U.S. work visa unless he has really good connections. He took advantage of the Stream-A work visa program from Canada in order to experience life in North America (in a way to fulfill his original aspiration to see the world as a flight attendant ?).
Good question, I would not be able to live in Australia decades ago if they did not have this reciprocal PR arrangements. That why NZ population is shrinking fast mate. I know so many Kiwi around me in Sydney thank to the policy.

All I hear is complaints from your guest. If life is so difficult in Canada or NZ, why bother to move from HK. Every guest in the show complaint about low wages or struggle to find the jobs that appeal to them. Why don't they tell us what make them more competitive compare to the rest job applicants. If you don't have the skills set than don't blame others.

Tons of Kiwi had moved to Australia including myself as they get paid much better in Australia and the cost of living except accommodation only of 60% of NZ especially gas. $1.7 per litre in Sydney whereas $3.2 in Auckland. The last Kiwi please turn off their light before they leave for Australia from New Zealand lol.
NZ allows for multiple citizenships. Geo-political consideration is a vital factor of planning in the 21st century❗️ He is v v smart to seek Canadian citizenship. With that, he can even strategize to work in USA (not hard for Canadians), get PR, and US citizenship (only takes 5 yrs). Reasons: 1/ it is Highly likely the world will experience another devastating epidemic (plague). Additional citizenships, PR, means having additional choices to evacuate to. Imagine in 2019, if a China Chinese could hv escaped from Covid China, to live & work Canada. The govt imposed lockdowns, economic devastation, mandated Covid testing, and worst: unavailability to the latest mRNA 💉💉💉technology, unlike the free world, all these were imposed on🇨🇳citizens. On a macro train of thought, multiple citizenships avail of destination choices in times of war, plaque, job markets, economic devastation (eg today’s China). 2/ When China invades TW, or tries to take over parts over S China Sea based on its self announced 9 Dashline song, unrecognized by UN’s Hague Tribunal, US & allies will light up S China Sea💥💥. There may be interruptions of currency exchange, flights, foreign citizen evacuations, internet disruptions. Exiting SE Asia will become highly desirable for those who can. 3/ Unlike Australia, NZ, a small country, govt is somewhat infiltrated, & often intimidated by China. 4/ Just a wild thought, in time of war, may have mandatory conscription for male soldiers. Summary : when calamities strike, or economies are bullish, the ability to own multiple passports is an enviable asset. In its process, how accessible the city one needs to settle into to earn a living & a psssport compared to how accessible it is to Cantonese foods to night life is inconsequential, even silly.
