我們找來九龍城重建區內的巴基斯坦街坊，salia和romy，教大家如何與巴基斯坦街坊交流。巴基斯坦朋友不止講烏都語，也會旁遮旁語；兩種語言在應用時有相同亦有相異，卻不妨礙溝通，大家都能互相明白。
we invite our pakistani friends living in the kowloon city urban renewal area, salia and romy, to teach us how to talk with pakistani friends. they speak and can understand both urdu and punjabi, just like many of our pakistani friends do. there are similarities and slight differences between these two languages in daily conversations, yet these does not affect the communication.

八方識字閣，顧名思義就是八種不同語言的識字啦！
六種不同少數族裔語言簡單用語教學，加上教學字句附上的廣東話、英語兩種語言翻譯，合共八種語言，是為八方。
泰國、印尼、菲律賓、巴基斯坦、尼泊爾等不同族裔的朋友，在港生活都頗長一段日子，但他們的語言，對其他在港生活的人來說也十分陌生啦。
新專欄［八方識字閣］，希望不論本地或不同國籍、族裔的朋友，皆可透過短片，學習用親切的語言，表達關心與問候。
每條短片的最後還會有［生活故事小劇場］～

[octagon language corner] special column/preface
as its name suggests, octagon language corner means 8 different languages.
learning simple conversation in 6 different languages of ethnic minorities, with Cantonese and English illustration, constitutes the octagon. friends from Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Nepal and other ethnicities have been living in Hong Kong for quite a while, but their languages are still detached to this city.
through the videos in this new special column [octagon language corner], we hope friends from Hong Kong, different nationalities and ethnicities can learn to greet and care for each other in a familiar tongue.
at the end of each video, there will also be a [daily story theatre] ~
