No doubt is Jacky Cheung! He aged like fine wine. His vocal is great, there’s sense of depth(layering) & sensation which were lack in other singers. For me in Asia, Jacky Cheung & Koji Tamaki are the best.
Tiger Hu was the guest singer at JJ Lin's concert in Suzhou 2 months ago. They sang 2 songs together - '53 Dawns' composed by JJ + 'Karaoke Men' composed by Tiger. Kindly request Rozette to review these 2 beautiful songs. Thanks a lot.
Jacky Cheung is the best. Nothing beats the original. Foreigners didn't grew up listening to this type of style and they don't understand the lyrics, so it's hard for them to relate. The original came out a long time ago so that's why most people who just listen to the song would prefer the newer version from Tiger Hu.
I first heard this song when it was released in 1996. I liked that album but this song never worked for me. Surprising since it was arranged by one of my favorite musicians, Goh Kheng Long. It never registered in my memory until I heard Tiger's version decades later. I was hooked. His version is incredibly fun to listen to and sing to. No other version has come close since.
You can't really find the one that can sing the songs into audiences' hearts quite like Jacky Cheung. It's not about his legendary achievement but the way he can deliver. It's a bit harder for foreigners to get that as Cantonese is a bit complicated and ancient for non native people, and hence why they feel difficult to relate to that. But for real, as a native speaker, he delivers the context the best amongst all. and hey i'm in Canada too!
Nothing's wrong with showing the rest three of the four heavenly kings. They each have their own characteristics performance-wise and they have improved a lot as time goes by. At least they are a lot better than some current artistes.
很高興老師也喜歡胡彥斌~順便說一下,之前老師很喜歡周深唱的那首月光,就是胡彥斌寫的喔(I'm glad that the teacher also likes Hu Yanbin~ By the way, the teacher liked the song "Moonlight" sung by Zhou Shen very much before, which was written by Hu Yanbin.)
I think some of the sloppiness comes from the fact that they are both very theatrical singers individually, so when combined, its almost like they're having a rifting battle, cool to themselves, but quite squirmy to the audiences' ears.
So funny😂 This is my first time to watch the whole episode without subtitle and it did bring me more different flavour compared to that polished edited one(have Chinese subtitle)❤
