In this video, I perform the Great Sun Buddha's Mantra of Light using a Western chant style. 《不空羂索毗盧遮那佛大灌頂光真言經》，唐不空譯，略稱作《光明真言經》，別出自《不空羂索經》二十八《灌頂真言成就品》。其中所舉，光明真言，系密教陀羅尼之一，為金剛界"毗盧遮那佛大日如來"之真言，一切諸佛菩薩之總咒。又名"不空大灌頂光真言" "大灌頂光真言"。
Foreword: The "Amoghavajra's Great Empowerment Mantra of Light Sutra," translated by Tang Dynasty Amoghavajra, briefly known as the "Mantra of Light Sutra," is derived from the twenty-eighth chapter of the "Amoghapasa Sutra." The Mantra of Light is one of the esoteric Dharanis, the ultimate mantra of Vajradhatu's Vairocana Buddha, the Great Sun Buddha, encompassing all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. It is also known as the "Amoghavajra's Great Empowerment Mantra of Light" or simply the "Great Empowerment Mantra of Light."
據《光明真言經》中記載：「若有眾生，隨處得聞，此大灌頂光真言，二三七遍，經耳根者，即得除滅，一切罪障。 (中略)身壞命終，墮諸惡道，以是真言，加持土沙，一百零八遍，屍陀林中，散亡者屍骸上或散墓上。（中略)神通威力，加持土沙之力，應時即得，光明及身，除諸罪報，捨所苦身，往於西方，極樂國土，蓮花化生，乃至菩提，更不墮落。」
According to the "Mantra of Light Sutra," it is stated: "If any sentient being hears this Great Empowerment Mantra of Light anywhere, and it resonates in their ears two hundred and thirty-seven times, all their sins and obstacles will be eradicated. (omitted) Upon death, they will avoid falling into evil paths. By empowering sand with this mantra one hundred and eight times and scattering it over the deceased's remains in a cemetery, (omitted) the divine power and the empowered sand's effect will immediately grant light and purity, eradicating all sins, leading them to the Western Pure Land, and being reborn in a lotus flower, eventually attaining Bodhi without further downfall."
另外，亦能除滅，現世病障、鬼妖、眼病、毒蟲之害等。可見其功德之殊勝，與不可思議。
Additionally, it can also eradicate current life illnesses, demonic disturbances, eye diseases, and insect poison, demonstrating its remarkable and inconceivable merits.
此陀羅尼，流傳甚早，如新羅、元曉《游心安樂道》及契丹、道殿《顯密圓通成佛心要集》皆有引用。在日本自"明慧上人"(高弁)，依據《光明真言加持土沙義》，宣揚光明真言，信仰以來，真言宗、天台及其他諸宗，常於施餓鬼會，與日常法會中念誦。甚至塔婆亦有刻記，迄今仍然盛行。又，依此法儀軌，以修之密法，謂之為"光明真言法"，此法主滅罪、除病、息災，尤其是滅罪所修。如依此法，加持土沙，散佈於亡者墓上，則稱為"土沙加持作法"。
This Dharani has been transmitted early on, cited in works such as Silla's Wonhyo's "The Way to Peace of Mind" and Khitan's Daoden's "The Essential Collection of Complete Enlightenment." In Japan, since the "Myoe Shonin" (Koben), based on the "Rationale of Empowering Sand with the Mantra of Light," propagated the Mantra of Light. Since then, Shingon, Tendai, and other sects have frequently recited it in the Hungry Ghost Festival and daily rituals. It is even inscribed on stupas and remains popular today. The practice of this ritual, known as the "Mantra of Light Practice," primarily focuses on eradicating sins, curing diseases, and pacifying calamities, especially for eradicating sins. If empowered sand is scattered over a deceased person's grave, it is called the "Empowering Sand Ritual."
以光明真言，每一梵字，排列成字輪，之曼荼羅，稱為"光明真言曼荼羅"或"光明真言破地獄曼荼羅"，乃取光明真言，一字所放之光明，遍照眾生界，破無明煩惱，黑暗之意。此曼荼羅，為生死出離，之大秘法，與惡罪頓滅，之大神咒，由其功德，可破碎地獄門，開顯菩提之道。
The Mantra of Light, with each Sanskrit letter forming a letter wheel mandala, is known as the "Mantra of Light Mandala" or "Mantra of Light Hell-Breaking Mandala." It signifies the light emitted by each letter of the Mantra of Light illuminating the realm of sentient beings, breaking ignorance and darkness. This mandala is a great secret method for liberation from life and death, a great divine mantra for eradicating severe sins, whose merits can break the gates of hell and reveal the path to Bodhi.
