宁夏回族自治区，简称“宁”，首府银川市，中国五大少数民族自治区之一，位于中国西北内陆地区。宁夏回族自治区是中华民族远古文明发祥地之一。早在3万年前的旧石器时代就有人类在这里生息繁衍，党项族首领李元昊在此建立了西夏王朝，并形成了西夏文化。宁夏既有秀美的风光，又有深厚的历史文化底蕴，古今素有“塞上江南”之美誉。
Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, referred to as "Ning", with its capital Yinchuan City, is one of China's five major ethnic minority autonomous regions and is located in the inland region of northwest China. Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is one of the birthplaces of ancient civilization of the Chinese nation. As early as the Paleolithic Age 30,000 years ago, humans lived and multiplied here. Li Yuanhao, the leader of the Dangxiang tribe, established the Xixia Dynasty here and formed the Xixia culture. Ningxia has both beautiful scenery and profound historical and cultural heritage. It has been known as the "fortress of Jiangnan" in ancient and modern times.
