While I don't speak or read Japanese, I believe I recognize this rancher. Unless I'm mistaken, he's Hiroo Onada, a World War II Japanese soldier who, unable to safely confirm the end of the war, continued to engage in guerilla actions in the philippines for 29 years, finally surrendering in 1974. With that sort of dedication and commitment, I'll bet he was one hell of a cattle rancher!
