It's important to know that not every family is welcoming to have a son-in-law from a different race... Jay won the jackpot as far as his wife and in-laws go. A little trick for Jay's first-aid training, get hydrogen peroxide to clean and sanitize flesh wounds instead of alcohol will clean better with less pain and less expensive as well. Black or aged fermented tea like Pu'er is warmth(aka Yang) while green tea is cool(aka Yin) in terms of body metabolic balance.

Bcoz thatz what I used to do when I was a kid and now my son is doing the same to me ... Karma really can be fun sometimes. Anyway, abalone is pronounced as "a buh loh nee".
