Since he (the man in the video) said that he regretted becoming a Singaporean (he is formerly a China citizen), I strongly advise him to go to the Singapore ICA to give up his Singapore citizenship and passport. Why does our Singapore government grant citizenship to these people who are not loyal to Singapore? 这些人 养不熟 , 要他们作啥?
Government need to maintain the current race ratio but unfortunately the chinese had the lowest birth rate based on the last population census, rate for respective races, chinese is 1.2, Indian 1.4 and Malay 1.8. Since Spore Chinese are not producing enough, the easier way is to get Malaysia Chinese or get from China. Malaysia Chines can better integrate due to cultural similarities and they speak malay too. But from China, how to communicate if they dont speak english and malay? I hope everyone listen to his advice and dont apply citizenship here anymore, just stay in China, the best country in this world. BTW, if you have not been to NUS, pay a visit and you thought you are in Beijing University.
I guess government giving away lots of sponsorship to mainland Chinese students to study in our Singapore universities, eh? FYI, I saw videos from China influencers/ KOL explaining how to apply to Singapore universities and why it is better to study in Singapore. I remembered one China KOL said that the Singapore university (or government?) give them money for housing and for food if they come to SG for university education.
This disgruntled gentleman should have gone to Malaysia to work instead of Singapore. He will never be able to get Malaysian citizenship and therefore can still return to his beloved China anytime. In some ways the Singapore immigration programme may be at fault in not carrying out better screening to ensure that foreign citizens applying to emigrate to Singapore have a good basic understanding of Singapore culture and life. This gentleman, with his distorted thinking and views, will never be a happy immigrant in any country let alone Singapore.
@jrtd102 Agree. He just won't fit in anywhere. I felt that our government was very lax in the beginning. That's why we had a lot of social problems like the 陪读妈妈. I think our government was trying to get the top students from China to come over and gave them a lot of perks, hoping that they'd stay. But sadly, many of them(not only those on scholarships) used us as a springboard to go to the US and UK which they considered were better. Because they know English was their major obstacle so they came over to study for a few years and when their English got better, they moved to the US or UK. My girl had such a classmate in primary school.
@liweiquek7382 Ya, he has enjoyed all our privileges and now find it too expensive here. Well, Sir, we won't keep you from your dear Motherland. Good riddance.
I've met a lady from Hunan who's taken up Sg citizenship. She had the audacity to ask me how her son could avoid doing National Service. Very typical of them: only grab but never contribute
@@lynlyncc filthy selfish mentality that only wants the perks of safetiness she enjoys that was built on the sweats of other singaporean son, some whom even died while serving, all thanks to your govt keep letting in such selfish subhuman dogs
@@lynlyncc Some people just come and take out of their greed, they are not evolved enough to the level of knowing contribution to humanity is what matters.
。。?!James, have a good and safe trip.
@TheSingingCicada I was thinking maybe at his position he thought that his subordinates would pay for him. I think in China, it's like that. It's about 搞好关系 so that they can benefit from him. And probably he did that and too many times! So everybody knew he's like that, that's why AA lah. I mean if we're very close friends, we won't mind taking turns paying for meals because we know the other party will do the same. We're very 好客, only stingy to people like him.
Hi james, to the guy in that video "don't bite the hands thats feeds you" if he had not come to singapore to work he wont be as successful as he is in china! He is very ungrateful.
he is an economic immigrant. every nationality has. majority will not b happy wherever they go cos the grass is always greener for such. ignore them, there r much better things to do
actually very simple. give up Singapore nationality and try to find another country to migrate. When at country A, complaint all negatives of country A. then at country B, keep complaining at country B. This type of people is the root of his own problem. I am a singapore born and bred chinese, do i have the intention of giving up my nationality just becoz Norway, denmark is better than singapore? NO. No one can find a perfect county. Instead must find peace in ourself. When we go to another country, out of respect to the host country, we must try to assimilate ourselves into the host country. No asking host country to change to us. If we change all host county to our home country, then why do we need to migrate to another country?
Chinese stay any country alway comment not as good as China. They can go back be China citizen again why so confused in life can adjust back. If Singapore not situable don't come Singapore simple. Singapore have different culture and culture is than China. Well the China citizen cannot expect Singapore culture is same with China. Very countries have different culture is up to them to adjust themselves if not they can go back simple don't comment so much is not good to them.
I know quite a few China Chinese friends who are now Sg citizens. They are well-read, and they cannot stand the political and social issues in China. Those ppl who think fondly of China always mention that things are cheaper, the home delivery system is fast and cheap but all these are possible because of the outrageous exploitation of the labour class. And they close a blind eye to that, because they don't give a shit about them because they think they are better than the labour class. Ironically, they used to “打地主”。
Good Day Mr James and all, Well spoken and most sound advice. It applies to all things, no one owe anyone anything. Take care and enjoy your time with your parents. 😃
AA subject: When at work and out with colleagues for lunch, yes AA (may not calculated to the last cent). It’s normal practice. But, with friends, hardly AA (for me). So, for him to dislike “AA”, maybe he’s a stingy guy and after some time, people wised up. My guess, could be wrong.
One of the reasons Singapore government don't allow dual citizenship is precisely because of people like that person in the video. Migration is a very serious and fairly drastic change to one's life. The question is, can he even integrate back into the Chinese society now?
To change citizenship is very serious. What was this man considering when he applied? I find it unbelievable that he can get the same salary in China 1:1.
He should renounce his Singapore citizenship and go back to China. I seriously think our Singapore government should consider how loyal to Singapore the person applying for Singapore citizenship is before granting him one. Should not base just on the applicant’s age, how much he earns, his education, his job or how much he can contribute to GDP as the criteria.
@audreychoong7323 I do not know what is our government's consideration for citizenship and who knows what this guy did to get his pink ic. This fella is definitely unworthy of the pink ic.
Thanks James for the clarifications. That guy shows us, the differences between "fixed" mindset vs. "growth" mindset. When the mind is fixed, everything will be locked and has limits. Be it "mental", "social", "career" and personal aspects. Thanks to the person to show us the great example of a fixed mindset.
