One thing that many people may not know is that Zermatt is also a Dietitian before he became a competitive eater full time. He knows how to take care of his body and also advises other professional eaters. Also like what many of the comments mentioned, he pays for majority of the food that he films and mostly do not take advertising work but are places that he personally wants to introduce. He's also has a RU-vid channel so maybe consider having a interview or collab with him when you are in Singapore.
@@Jamesyezitotally agree. Many people has shallow mindset thinking wasting food means not to finish up food. Wasting food also means eating more than one requires for daily need. It is really an extreme comparing to others are suffering from impoverishment in 3rd world country. Put Zermatt in 3rd world country to live there for 3 years and I am sure he will quit his job as a competitive eater
Zermatt is a trained , respected competitor eater , he is not binge eater . I remember he done quite a bit of $100 challenge in hawker centres - don’t think he is advertising for the vendors .
That sg food RU-vidr is a vegan on days he doesn’t film and if I’m not wrong he fast too. The amount of workout he fits I really high too. He also did film a video on his day when he doesn’t film. From what I know he pays for the food.
Zermmat is a famous competitor eater. He has many fans in Asia sometimes when see him eat i also worry for him his stomach is very small but he exercise alot and look after his health.
Everyone has their own strengths and talents. In this case, he is using his gifts and plenty of hard work to build his career. In my opinion, as long as he is responsible to his own body and to his audience (he does not encourage them to binge eat), there is nothing wrong. To be honest, plenty of food reviews and awards are really for the sake of marketing, and eating large volumes of food is just another way to grab attention. At the end of the day, it’s just another form of genre in the food entertainment industry. P.s. you may wanna check out tzuyang from Korea who eats a lot and maintains a healthy figure. According to her it’s largely due to her insane metabolism that forces her to eat such amounts, if that is the case, is it even avoidable or her fault that she eats that much?
Ok lah, as long as they don't waste food, but got to confess, I'm actually a subscriber to a few of the big eaters youtube channels, which included Zermatt. I seldom watch him though, merely showing my support to a fellow Singaporean😳😁
Those negative comments are unnecessary. All up to individual..no one ask you to follow or eat . Respect others choices. It's not what you said ..do you havd common sense to said it .
Looking good James. Should send out a hipster alert on you.😁 We should eat to live and not live to eat. My concern for the presenter is system overload on his body. His liver and kidneys will be working overtime to filter/ breakdown the food. Moderation is a better approach i think. Just my 2 cent observation.
Hainan Bao Chapter 1. Chicken rice. As a true Hainanese with family history dipped in famous chicken rice, I know quality when I taste it. It's located at Hotel Boss. You should give that a try. Order only the white chicken. Not roasted. That's where the skill will show.
Think it's a good idea to vlog your food experience when you are here later this year. Blame it on the easy access of social media nowadays. Ppl tend to explore various ways to attract viewers, some legit while some not normal. Never liked the local guy in your video but as long he's comfortable I don't give a shxt. Have to say some of these big eaters from Korea or China have massive followers. Just to say eat within your limits and reject challenges as many around the world do not have the privilege of having a meal at the table. Occasionally indulgence is ok. Eat to live or live to eat...
Good day, James. My views on this type of "competition eating" is similar as yours..considered a wastage of food, losing the sense of taste..testing the elasticity of the stomach.. There's this guy called Matt Stonie, weighing approximately 130 lbs, does competition eating about once a week and when there's no competition,he does workouts in gym almost daily with normal diet. A highly disciplined competition eater started his career because there's a free lobster eating competition and prize 💰 of 1000 USD. He held several Guinness World Records till today. i am impressed with his lifestyle discipline and persistence to his training methods with calculations of total calories intake (e.g. 8000Cal for 25 burgers in a single intake). He also did regular medical checks as well. Though i don't dig for this kind of competition eating nevertheless impressed.
@Jamesyezi Good day,James. Perhaps the winning mentality and egos at play of surpassing existing records and one another. Matt Stonie has these traits also. Initially, he started eating because it was free food, and he was financially starving. Later on, when eating becomes his career, he converted his course to become a nutritionist because he knew his eating abilities were not superpowers and with limits, being a nutritionist helped him to maintain "healthy",scientifically extending his body limits as well as prolonging his career as a professional competition eater. He is a different breed of professional eater striving to improve systematically and loves his career (competition eating)
I think this is not about the quality of the food, but more about the quantity. There's many people online who makes videos like this. Well, when they get to 40s - 50s, they will get all these bodily abuse will get back at them.
