玉山雖是台灣最高峰，但沿途設施極其完善，尤其是玉山登山口往排雲山莊之間的步道，不但路面平整而且相距不遠便設有休憩涼亭與生態廁所，每隔500公尺便有距離指標，凡是上山前，每日稍加訓練一下體力，對一般大眾而言，都可慢步登頂。
