Mona Fong has a solid and fantastic voice unique in those days. This was a movie scene from the Shaw Brothers' production 'The Lark' Carrie Koo Mei was the lead actress which also sung many wonderful tunes. I watched this movie as a 10 years lad!

I stumbled on this video because I'm re watching atv drama showbiz tycoon 影城大亨 (after 15 yrs!) . It's loosely based on Run run show life and career but even the characters around him were real including carina lau who plays Mona Fong . Even this song is played in the drama often . Thx to RU-vid and Wikipedia I appreciate this drama even better now. If u have a chance to watch this drama it's worth watching it this marks the history of Hk cinema . Without these ppl seriously I would have given up chinese . Lots of ppl are buying lots of good old days HK drama as collection and I think it's important to pass them on to the next generation. These r great childhood memories and remind us of our identity and to be proud of we are.

Mona Fong was a well-known solid singer then and she sang this wedding song really well in both English and Mandarin. BTW, Mona Fong did not excel due to her look. This Sir Run Run Shaw fellow, who often smiled and rarely talked in public over the years, had plenty of beautiful ladies for his choosing in the hey days..

Can't help repeating the romantic story btw her and Run Run Shaw. Run Run was visiting one of his cinemas in Singapore. I think it was Capitol Cinema in North Bridge Road, when he accidentally heard mellifluous singing from the night club upstairs. (Eons ago there was indeed a night club at the upper floor of Capitol Cinema.) He went upstairs to have a look-see. The rest they say is history. They also say it's all written in the stars.
