Traditional Japanese Dance is mainly composed of three overlapping elements.
Mai, elegant and sophisticated circling movements with sliding steps
Odori, rhythmical movements with vigorous and energetic footsteps
And Furi, dramatic gestures that represent a variety of motifs.
The genesis of Japanese dance can be traced back to mythological age.
When Amaterasu, the Supreme Goddess of the Sun, hid in the heavenly rock cave and left the world in the darkness,
Uzume, the goddess of the arts, danced outside the cave to lure the sun deity out, restoring light in the universe.
To ward off adversity and invoke blessings--
the prayer of the ancient Japanese was the origin of this traditional performing arts.
日本舞踊は主に三つの要素によって構成されています
摺り足などで滑らかに廻る「舞」
跳躍を交えた軽快な「踊り」
日常的な動きやしぐさを演劇的に表現する「振り」
日本舞踊の歴史は神話の世界まで遡ります。
天照大神（あまてらすおおみかみ）が天岩戸（あまのいわと）に隠れ、世界が暗闇に包まれたとき
天鈿女命（あめのうずめのみこと）が踊りによって太陽の女神を導き出し、光を取り戻しました
厄を祓い福を招く
古代人の祈りこそが日本舞踊の起源だったのです
