For those who liked this album, you should know that Narumin ( one of the singer of the duet ) made an album called "Around the THRU TRAFFIC" released on June 25, 2022 for the 40th anniversary of the album "THRU TRAFFIC". The album is available on Narumi Hiroshi's auto-generated youtube channel. Cindy is also present in the album
The artist's name "touhoku shinkansen" is a reference to the Shinkansen bullet train in Japan's Tohoku region, which at the time of 1982 was not readily opened to traffic. The male vocalist "hiroshi narumi" died in 2015.
本当にセレンディピティですね。 なんということでしょうーーこんな素敵なジャンルの時代の15年後生まれの私も、「リアルタイムで聞きまくってた」君も、 時の流れに隠されてたこのアルバムを見つけるなんて。🎵💖 It truly is serendipity, isn't it. It's incredible -- that I, who was born 15 years after the heyday of this genre, and you, who "listened to it in real time", could find this album hidden by the flow of time. 🎵💖
I listen often to so many great Japanese artists, Tatsuro Yamashita, Toshiki Kadomatsu, Junko Yagami etc, the list goes on, but there's just something about this album which makes me listen to it at least once a week, it's just about magical, last message is just perfect before settling down to sleep!

Hiroshi Narumin made another version of "Summer Touches you", the song is in the 40th anniversary album of "Thru Traffic" on his automatically generated channel
,Last Message' is a literal bop. Listened to it during high school thinking about my high school crush and now we're together, listening to this song whenever we go on trips together :,)
This album is one of my favorite finds on RU-vid, feels so nostalgic of 80s/90s films I watched growing up as a kid. I always play this album on repeat during summer, thank you for sharing such a gem!
Hi everyone! Today I find out that this LP will be reissued on August 6th 2022. Just wanted to tell It to those who have been willing to buy this gem without paying a fortune (2nd hand is so so pricey!). Good news for city pop lovers! 🤗
Moreover, In June 2022, the 40th anniversary album of "Thru Traffic" was released, and it's on Hiroshi Narumin channel, in this album there is even a collaboration with Cindy ( In the song "You & I" )
Listening to it again tonight, for the xxxxx time. I love a lot of good city pop albums but this one is an absolute banger from the beginning to the very end. The voices, the instruments, the mix, the composition... everything is right spot on at each second, damn I love this album so much.
First time I'm listening to this and I'm already in love, thank you Iris! Music truly is the universal language, and the proof is this comment section!

Wow. Amazingly nostalgic feeling, everything I depict in my head while listening to this album is seen through a deep blue like a feeling of longing for a status quo. It's romantic in it's delievery. 9/10.
Thanks a lot for uploading this.. city pop songs always magical, so much joy and nostalgic to the memories and moments that even doesn't exist.. what a journey to hear the whole album, i shed my tears, i'm so gratefull that their music could be so beatifull.. ❤
There's something so simple but beautiful about this album cover, and the first song fits it perfectly. What I wouldn't give to be in Japan in the 1980s drinking a soda and browsing record shops for these albums...
@@irispostsmusic7361 Yeah it's kinda crazy how long they've been shut for thanks to the coof but a weeb can dream. There was a time back in the fall that they barely had any cases and they were still shut, so I don't expect much.
that trumpet accompaniment in the first song is very reminiscent of the west coast aor sound such as jay graydon david foster maybe chicagoish. i cant explain its like that low pitch type of trumpet style, more relaxed, unlike earth wind and fire's which is more upbeat.
This really reminds me of Part 4 of Jojo's. I feel like, if not for the murder mystery plot, it could have made for a really cool slice of life anime with the usual stand shenanigans to spice things up.
Cara me lembro a muito tempo quando ouvi os meus primeiros albums de City Pop e que sorte a minha este ter sido um deles. Incrível, sempre volto aqui pra escutar essa jóia.
@@uryen921 GDR was a dictatorship. The people indeed loved music from the west. The only thing was, it wasn't loved by the government to love music from the west. By the way, this album didn't come from the west. It's Japanese.
@@Iriscal Indeed, I hear the influence of west coast pop artists like Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Pages and many of Jay Graydon, David Foster and Quincy Jones produced artists. But it does not change the fact that it is not real Western music. One reason why it might have been played in some countries of the former Eastern Bloc could have been the fact that it did not come from the so-called "class enemy". Anyway, my main criticism referred to the statement that people from the former Eastern Bloc hadn’t loved Western pop music which is definitely untrue.
progress save: currently on the (hopeful) tail end of a bad stomach migraine. Had to suffer theough a headache and nausea that confines me to a bed the other day, but it's been wearing off since. I almost want to soft reset, but I think going on from here would be better.
