Goosebumps, everytime I hear this song, I get them. The song builds and builds up toward the epic climax. I love every bit of it. It's my, (Synthmusic Solstice), Magnum Opus and first real try at full-orchestral arrangements. I always imagined it as the song that would turn Maribel into Yukari. Incredible.

It's funny you feel like this is the "Maribel to Yukari" song, cuz it was a song I got super attached to when I had that sort of transition in my own life. *feels* Not that I turned into a super-youkai-wizard or anything, (or did I?) I just think I'm referring to growing up and transforming the ego. This is ZUNs song for ego death 🤣

That's an interesting view! I always thought the possible transition from Maribel to Yukari would have been really sad, as she had to leave her old life behind. I never saw things from that angle, that she was just going throught an important transformation in her life, that would eventually happen. Interesting, interesting indeed!

This is a peice of orchestral music that captures a feeling so few of the other ones I've listened to actually succeed in doing. The key is that your song doesn't have to rely on increasing the tempo to capture the feeling of grandeur, and by doing so, you also capture the elegance that gets lost in faster paced music. You also managed to use the instrument choices to convey a sense of progression throughout the song, something that a lot of other songs also fail to achieve. My only gripe is that the melody remained mostly untouched, but considering that this is your first serious orchestral peice, it's understandable that you didn't. All and all, a really great cover! (EDIT: Whoops! This is actually fairly old. Sorry about the late post, but my opinion remains unchanged.)
