I love watching "my boys" play with Kyoto Tachibana, when I refer to "my boys" I'm talking about Kyoto Tachibana's three male trumpet players. I was a trumpet player in high school also here in the states that's the reason I like seeing them in this band among the rest of these talented Japanese pretty young ladies. I Love Tachibana !!
Wow, many bands of elementary, junior high and high school students are participating. And as always, a great Tachibana High School band. The Kansai region seems to be enthusiastic about music education. I think that some elementary and junior high school students will participate in Tachibana in the near future.
A question for anyone who knows, do the bands come from all over Japan for this festival? In English Please! What is the festival called and when does it occur? Is this called "Brass Expo?"
From what I can tell this show is the Kansai Brass Band Federation's annual show called "Brass Expo". As I identify the groups it appears they all come from the Kansai region (Kyoto/Osaka). Matsuri in Japan usually occur the same day(s) every year but the 2016 Brass Expo was May 8th and the 2017 Expo was May 7th (so somewhere around this time every year). I may not be totally right about this but I'm in the U.S. and not in Japan so it's hard to verify all the info (and because I'm a Kanto guy so all my relatives live in the other area :-) )
les, Yes, this festival is called Brass Expo organized by Kansai of All Japan Band Association. The participating bands regions are Osaka, Kyoto and other four regions. This festival is held every May. * Edited:other four prefectures --> other four regions
