The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House (MAIKO-SAN CHI NO MAKANAI-SAN by Aiko Koyama) is a very popular comic that has sold more than 2 million copies in total. This series depicts the everyday life of the Geiko district of Kyoto, the protagonis Kiyo becomes a Makanai (person who cooks meals) at a house where Maiko (apprentice Geiko) live together. In a collaboration with the Showrunner & Director Hirokazu Kore-eda, producer Genki Kawamura, and actors Nana Mori and Natsuki Deguchi, this title will finally be launched on January 12, 2023. Prior to the launch, an archive of the premiere event held on January 9 to commemorate the launch, featuring Nana Mori, Natsuki Deguchi, Aju Makita, Ai Hashimoto and Director Hirokazu Kore-eda, will be on the stage!
