I know that shouting is a part of showing fighting spirit but the orange clearly overdid it many times in every rally which might annoy opponents. I can see why Watanabe-kun responded the same. They were all young teens though :)))
They fought over the loudest scream title. I've never watched badminton as funny as this match. I smile and laugh throughout this video... ha ha ha ha.
The way they shout for winning a point or losing a point is just unacceptable.... I wonder where they learn it from.... win 1 point = shout 4 times, win 1 game = shout 84 times... damn annoying!
chen yih kiat This is actually quite common in Japanese badminton, however more common pre-university (this particular tournament is for high-school students). The whole principle of shouting is to bring forth the "fighting spirit". If you ever go to Japan and have the opportunity to visit a badminton club you'll notice that the clubs require the students to actually shout, the most common shouted word being "fight". This is to boost morale and try to get the players to get pumped up and keep practicing even though its harsh and tiresome. I've played in two different university clubs in Japan and used to yell a lot as well.
