I loved making this hat. It came out very nice - my only issue is my brim edges kept flipping up on the corners - not sure how to correct that. But I still loved it. Can't wait to wear it out. Thank you taking the time to share this with us so carefully.
SUBLIME gorgeous STUNNING amazing. I learnt so much from you. The hat is "puffingly" beautiful. I can crochet the puff stitch but you scared me when you began crochet reverse stitch. Such a POSH and ELEGANT finish. SO BEAUTIFUL. I must first learn to crochet reverse stitch many times before I try it on a hat. Your fingers float when you crochet. Pleasure to watch. I made this for myself over last couple evenings. Great tutorial and I love the product. Used hook size 8/5 mm, followed the tutorial, size is perfect.
Your first row is single crochet not a slip stitch. if you were to yarn over and pull through both loops at once then its a slip stitch. i made this hat last year and gave it to one of my friends. She loved it.

Well, I love the look of this hat in the video and it was a fun pattern to try. But after four attempts, the hat is just too big and floppy. Even skipping a couple of the last rows wouldn't help. Maybe it's because I don't speak Japanese, so didn't get all the instructions. I don't know. I used 4 weight yarn and a 4mm hook, but it was still too big for a woman's hat. Maybe I'll try it again with a 3 weight yarn sometime.
