The era of 王安石 bears remarkable similarities with the current HK SAR government where civil servants enjoy well paid jobs and a generous pension. Yet their productivity is low and does not justify their high salary. The iron rice bowl policy further secures employment of trite, pedantic and incompetent government employees, some with questionable loyalty. The CE needs wisdom and political will to solve this huge problem handed down by the British colonial government.
王安石 was honored by a US agricultural departmet by issuing a US postal stamp in late 1970 or early 1980 for his reformed framing policy which US adopted. Right now I could not google it, but I rememberd I saw the stamp's fascimile in a newspaper.
