男装 - Cross-Dressing 

"You can dress like this, but still be a girl inside." That's exactly what I'm trying to explain to my family, but they still don't seem to understand. I simply like men's fashion. They look comfortable, and I also like baggy shirts or pants. :o

I think lots of people miss something important that she says: she mentioned that you can cross dress and still identify as your biological sex at the end of the day. Ie, cross dressing =/= being gender queer. What you wear is aestheticism, its expressing your ideas if beauty, it can but it doesn't necessarily have to do anything with your gender identity/sexuality. What Akira said is that she wishes that people would stop trying to make that correlation; you can be a girl and dress as a boy and still think of yourself as a girl and like boys and vice versa. We need to break out of this rigid and ridiculous mindset.

I love her style & her way of life, i have no idea how she pulls off looking like a handsome guy & a beautiful down to earth woman at the same time.... Especially her smile! ARGH. this is really inspirational; I remember always being bullied for acting and dressing like a man even though I still liked to call myself "female,". later this lead me to cosplaying which I currently do today, it really allows me to dress up however I want. it makes me happy. we really need to have more people in this world to help people feel comfortable in their own bodies

It's funny cause she thinks no man would marry her. Of course she wouldn't look good in cutesy clothes. That just doesn't fit her. Make her look sharp, sleek, and stylish, I think she'd look beautiful. Of course, not men's clothes. There are other good styles for women that has the qualities I mentioned. Japan has some weird standards. Don't worry Akira, you're pretty normal for me and all the other people who like cross-dressing and cosplaying.

I remember ages ago, I was walking around dressed as a guy (I do it for fun). Two girls came up to me and started talking to me. Because I'm such a flipping moron I didn't realise that the were attempting to flirt with me for around half an hour. It then took me ten minutes to explain to them that I am in fact a straight female. After finding out that snippet if information they gave me a load of verbal abuse before leaving. I just stood there trying not to piss myself laughing.

I'm not really one of Akira's Fan but after watching this video I'am now..hahaha I like the Idea of dressing up as whatever you want bec. at the end of the day it's just all about Fashion. and Crossdressing is not a bad thing :)

I think just like Akira, that people are to focused about what's "normal" in term of dressing and what it's not. Particulary in western countries. It makes me sad because a lot of people will just dress "normaly" like the others because of the fear of being judged or being treated as a "weird person".. We should all have the right to dress like we want without being ashamed. Like she said, it will be so nice if people will stop making a big deal about this, it is just fashion.. nothing else
